8 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF YOUTH SERVICE BOARD/MUNICIPAL ALLIANCE AGREEMENT FOR FY 2018 WHEREAS, the,, recognizes that the abuse of alcohol and drugs is a serious problem in our society amongst persons of all ages; and WHEREAS, the Borough Council further recognizes that it is incumbent upon not only public officials but upon the entire community to take action to prevent such abuses in our community; and WHEREAS, the Borough Council has applied for funding to the Governor s Council on Alcohol and Drug Abuse through the NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the as follows: 1) The Borough Council does hereby authorize acceptance of monies for the Metuchen Municipal Alliance grant for fiscal year 2018 in the amount of: DEDR $20, Cash Match $ 5, In-Kind $15, ) The acknowledges the terms and conditions for administering the Municipal Alliance grant, including the administrative compliance and audit requirements. 15 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING PERSON TO PERSON TRANSFER OF PLENARY RETAIL CONSUMPTION LIQUOR LICENSE # FROM THE GREAT ATLANTIC & PACIFIC TEA COMPANY TO CHASE SPIRITS METUCHEN, LLC. 18 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION SUPPORTING SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FOR NEW JERSEY DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM WHEREAS, Metuchen is applying for funding for design and construction of Trailhead Park; and WHEREAS, the project will help to continue and improve the promotion and encouragement of pedestrian and bicycle access and safety for commuters, residents, shoppers and school children; and WHEREAS, maintenance of the facility, once constructed, will be assumed by Metuchen with the exception of (1) local ordinances that places maintenance responsibility with each individual property owner, and (2) those crosswalks on State or County Highways. 19 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING BID AWARD FOR 2017 OLMEZER PARK HANDICAPPED PARKING PROJECT WHEREAS, the advertised for the receipt of bids on June 20, 2017 for 2017 Olmezer Park Handicapped Parking Project; and WHEREAS, nine (9) bid packages were requested and distributed to potential bidders; and WHEREAS, five (5) bids were received by the on or before July 11, 2017; and WHEREAS, said bids were reviewed by the Borough Administrator/ Purchasing Agent and for the and the Borough Administrator recommends awarding to the apparent lowest, responsible bidder LandTek Construction, 875 River Road, Piscataway, New Jersey 08854, in the amount of $22,000; and WHEREAS, the Chief Financial Officer's Certification of Funds has certified that there is sufficient funds for such contract and is available and is designated to CDBG 2016 Grant line item T for the 2017 Olmezer Park Handicapped Parking Project, not to exceed the of total of $22,000. 21 RESOLUTION RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING RELEASE OF 10% CASH BOND FOR METUCHEN SPORTPLEX-DURHAM AVENUE B71 L37.02 WHEREAS, Metuchen I LLC., in a letter dated December 23, 2011 has requested a release of the performance bond for various improvements on Block 71 Lots Durham Avenue; and WHEREAS, the Project Engineer has reported that the contract has been completed in an acceptable manner; and WHEREAS, Birdsall Engineers in a letter dated December 29, 2011 recommended the full release of 10 % cash bond in the amount of $42, plus interest; and NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the that the Chief Financial Officer is hereby authorized and directed to release the 10% Cash Bond in the amount of $42, plus interest as directed by the Project Engineer to Metuchen I, LLC, 8101 Glenbrook Ave, Suite B, Bethesda, MD X X X X X X I hereby certify the foregoing to be a true copy of a resolution adopted by the Borough Council of the, Middlesex County, New Jersey at a regular meeting held on July 17, 2017.
