BACKGROUND: Please provide background on the need for this referral and how it will benefit the University. Clearly state the expected outcome(s) or action(s) requested. The attached academic calendar provides detailed dates for summer 219 sessions, Fall 219 Semester, Winter 22 Intersession, and Spring 22 Semester. Extensive feedback has already been obtained from various constituents regarding the attached academic calendar. New to this academic calendar is the inclusion of a Winter Intersession in 22 to allow departments to offer special purpose courses (e.g., study abroad, field study, internship, independent study, etc.). Consultation with various groups, including the department chairs, has revealed support for a Winter Intersession. Following adoption by the Academic Senate and approval by the President, the calendar must be submitted to the Chancellor Office in January 219 for final review and approval.
