1 Houston, MO Minutes of the Board of Education in regular session October 11, 2016 Quorum Closed Session A regular meeting of the Board of Education Houston R-I School District of Texas County, Missouri was convened at 6:00 p.m. with the Russell Gaither, Stacie Ely, Jennifer Scheets, and Jo Holland. go into closed session pursuant to RsMO , subsections 3 and 13. Motion carried 7-0. Sam Kelley yea, Leon Slape yea, Curtis Hubbs yea, Russell Gaither yea, Stacie Ely yea, Jennifer Scheets yea, and Jo Holland yea. Open Session began at 6:41 p.m. Special Recognition Pledge of Allegiance Correspondence Mrs. Fleetwood has the Elementary Superstar Mentor Program and students Madeline Holder, Kirstin Collins, and Macy Mills were present. Middle School Student of the Month nominees, Hannah Dzurick, Casey Merckling, and Sabrina Blair were present. High School Student of the Month, Kaitlyn Root was present. All of the students that were recognized led the Board in the Pledge of Allegiance. Dr. Moss went over a letter from a patron with the Board. MSTA/MNEA Approve Agenda Patron Comments Old Business Softball Field Project approve the agenda as presented. Motion carried 7-0. Brent Hall and Jimmy Swindell spoke to the Board regarding the Softball Field Project. approve the building of the softball locker rooms. Motion carried 7-0. New Business Consent Agenda Minutes A motion was made by Sam Kelley and seconded by Jennifer Scheets to approve the consent agenda as presented. Motion carried 7-0. Approved minutes from the previous Board Meeting.

2 Claims for Payment Claims approved for payment were checks Transfers Bus Routes MSBA Policy Update 2016C Assessment Data Program Evaluations approve the bus routes as presented. Motion carried 7-0. Dr. Moss gave the Board MSBA Policy Update 2016C for a first read. The Board will revisit at the November meeting. Mrs. Oakley presented the Board with a compilation of MAP, EOC, and ACT assessment results from the school year. A motion was made by Sam Kelley and seconded by Jennifer Scheets to approve the Health Services evaluation as presented by Michele Moseley. Motion carried 7-0. approve the Personnel evaluation as presented by Dr. Moss. Motion carried 7-0. Board Reports Patron Comments Next Board Meeting Adjournment Administrators updated the Board regarding ongoing activities on the school campus. Mrs. Ely gave a report regarding the MSBA conference that she attended. have the next regular board meeting on November 8, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the High School Library Media Center. General Obligation Bonds Adjournment LJ Hart spoke to the Board regarding long term bond financing options. A motion was made by Leon Slape and seconded by Jennifer Scheets to adjourn. Motion carried 6-0. Meeting adjourned at 5:59 p.m.

4 Minutes of the Board of Education in closed session October 11, Closed Session Minutes Substitute Personnel Employment A closed session meeting of the Board of Education Houston R-I School District of Texas County, Missouri was convened at 6:00 p.m. with the Russell Gaither, Stacie Ely, Jennifer Scheets, and Jo Holland. A motion was made by Curtis Hubbs and seconded by Stacie Ely to approve minutes from the previous regular closed session meeting. Motion carried 7-0. Sam Kelley yea, Leon Slape yea, Curtis Hubbs yea, Russell Gaither yea, Stacie Ely yea, Jennifer Scheets yea, and Jo Holland yea. approve Substitute personnel for the school year. Motion carried 7-0. Sam Kelley yea, Leon Slape yea, Curtis Hubbs yea, Russell Gaither yea, Stacie Ely employ Derrion Donson as High School Basketball Freshman assistant for the school year. A motion was made by Leon Slape and seconded by Sam Kelley to employ Del Hicks as Translator for the school year. Mr. Hicks will be working 8-9 hours a week at $12 per hour. Motion carried 7-0.
