An appeal may be filed with the Kern County Planning and Natural Resources Department, 2700 "M" Street, Suite 100, Bakersfield, with filing fee of $540 on forms available at the Planning and Natural Resources Department. The filing must be made within 14 days of and including the date of hearing. For Tract Maps, an appeal must be filed within 10 days from the date of decision of the Planning Commission. Any such appeal must be accompanied by an appeal fee of $540. If no appeal is received, the action of the Planning Commission is final. ZONING ORDINANCE REVISIONS A - Revisions to the Kern County Zoning Ordinance 2017 A. Revisions to the Kern County Zoning Ordinance 2017(A). Proposed text amendments to various Chapters of Title 19 (Kern County Zoning Ordinance) to address changes in State law to eliminate barriers to development of accessory dwelling units in single-family and multifamily zones. Proposed revisions include, but are not limited to, the following: (a) Amending Chapter Secondary Residential Units to now be known as Accessory Dwelling Units, expanding the number of zone districts in which an accessory dwelling unit can be established and amending the development standards to be consistent with State law; (b) Amending Chapter Definitions by adding car sharing, dwelling unit, accessory, and public transity stop, and deleting secondary residential unit; (c) Amending Chapter Interpretations and General Standards to clarify square footage and height requirements for accessory dwelling buildings and revising the zone modification findings needed to approve a request not adhereing to the criteria; (d) Revising various chapters within the Zoning Ordinance to ensure consistency with proposed requirements of Chapter These Chapters include: Definitions; Interpretations and General Standards; Exclusive Agricultuire (A) District; Limited Agriculture (A-1) District; Estate (E) District; Low-Density May 11, 2017 Page 4
