2 10. Voting of Officers There are two board positions for election for a two-year term. Nominations have been received for: - Hannah Cameron - Ash-Leigh Campbell - Matthew Herbert - Victoria Magazinovic - Olivia Ross The voting is based on total number of members in each region (e.g. if a region has 100 members than they have 100 votes). Each region has two voting representatives. Vote will be via ballot papers. Only those officially appointed as regional representatives can vote. Voting Representatives from each Region are: Northern; WaiBop; TaraMan; East Coast; Tasman; Aorangi; Otago Southland; Total Number of Members per Region are: New Zealand Young Farmers members (as at 29 June 2018) Region Members Region Members Northern Waikato/BOP Taranaki/Manawatu East Coast Tasman Aorangi Otago/Southland Total 11. Proposed changes to constitution i. Change of upper age limit from 31 years to 33 years Move that the wording of the following sections of the Rules of the NZ Federation of Young Farmer Clubs Incorporated be amended to reflect a change of age limit for a member to 33 years old, replacing the current age limit of 31 years old. Section 6.2 be changed to Society Members must be between 15 and 32 years old, inclusive, subject to clause 6.10 of these Rules and clause 3.1b) of Schedule 1 (except for Life Members, Co-opted Members, Advisory Members and Honorary Members). Section 6.10 be changed to Membership of Society Members (except Life Members, Co-opted Members, Advisory Members, Honorary Members and Elected Board Members) shall cease, automatically, at the end of the calendar year of their 33 rd birthday. Change in term of elected board members from 2 years to 3 years Moved that the wording of the following sections of the Rules of the NZ Federation of Young Farmer Clubs Incorporated be amended to reflect a change in the length of the term of the Elected Board member to be 3 years, replacing the current length of the term of 2 years. Schedule 1, Section 3.2 be changed to The term of an Elected Board Member is three years from AGM to AGM.. Schedule 1, Section 3.3 be changed to The terms are staggered with either 2 or 1 Elected Board Members elected at each Society AGM, and is determined by the number of Elected Board Members who have ended their three year term at that Society AGM. Affiliation Fees The affiliation fees for the Society are to be set for the year ahead /2019 The NZ Young Farmers Board recommend to the Society AGM: THAT the full membership fee of New Zealand Young Farmers is set at $70.00 per person for the year 2018/19 THAT the TeenAG individual membership fee of New Zealand Young Farmers is set at $30.00 per person for the year 2018/ Honorarium The honorarium fee is to be set for the year ahead 2018/2019 The NZ Young Farmers Board recommend to the Society AGM: THAT the honorarium be set for the 2018/2019 year at a total available of $ for Elected Board Members 16. 5 APPENDIX 1 Further detail to proposed constitution changes New Zealand Young Farmers Proposals at 2018 AGM The following extraordinary proposals are to be put to a membership vote at the 2018 AGM for the NZ Federation of Young Farmer Clubs Incorporated. These matters relate to changes in the constitution, will be voted on separately, and will require votes of at least 75% of the membership vote in favour to pass. Votes are to be carried out by way of regional delegates casting a vote on behalf of the members in their region, as outlined in section 12.5 of the NZYF Rules approved 8 July Under that same section, a Region may, but is not obliged to, cast some of its votes for and some against a resolution. Proposal #1 Change to Age Summary To raise the upper age limit of a NZYF member to be 33 years from the current upper age limit of 31 years. Current wording: Section 6.2 Society Members must be between 15 and 30 years old, inclusive, subject to clause 6.10 of these Rules and clause 3.1b) of Schedule 1 (except for Life Members, Co-opted Members, Advisory Members and Honorary Members). Section 6.10 Membership of Society Members (except Life Members, Co-opted Members, Advisory Members, Honorary Members and Elected Board Members) shall cease, automatically, at the end of the calendar year of their 31st birthday.
