ABOUT NUSRLMUN 16
ABOUT NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF STUDY AND RESEARCH IN LAW
FROM THE DESK OF PATRON IN CHEIF HON'BLE VICE CHANCELLOR It is our ability to effectively communicate using formalized systems of language that differentiates us from other living creatures on this planet. However, the ability that makes us superior is debatable, but there is one aspect which is undisputed, that most successful and powerful people have throughout mastered the ability to communicate effectively. In today s time it is to be noted that events which facilitate the art of public speaking should be encouraged and should be thoroughly participated as they not only flourish communicative skills but also provide the participants to effective brainstorming sessions. In furtherance of this view, I am delighted to welcome you to the Inaugural NUSRL Model United Nations Conference, Model UN Conferences have in recent times taken an eternal place in public speaking competitions. This particularly is because of the multifaceted nature of the event. Students acting in capacities of Delegates discussing issues of world importance sharpens both their interactive skills as well as researching skills. I wish NUSRL MUN 2016 a great success. Prof. Dr. B.C Nirmal, Vice Chancellor
FROM THE DESK OF DIRECTOR CONSTITUTIONAL LAW SOCIETY It gives me immense pleasure in inviting you to the 1st NUSRL Model United Nations Conference, I am assured to witness high standard discussion wherein students in the capacity of delegates would deliberate upon world issues. The conference is being organised by the Constitutional Law Society which has been formed in order to promote and facilitate discussion and debate on progressive public policies and national issues. This is one of the many endeavours which the society is undertaking in order to expand the horizons of academic discussions. I believe that this conference can be utilised to promote awareness of international relations and issues in young participants, and to inspire them towards understanding the problems of the world and on solution to combat them, whilst providing an atmosphere where students can hone their communication skills. I am confident that participants from all over the country shall be tremendously benefitted and the conference shall inculcate in them valuable talents and capabilities for better professional growth. Hope you have an enriching experience! Dr. P.P. Mitra Director Constitutional Law Society, NUSRL

COMMITTEES UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY- SOCHUM The primary deliberative, policymaking and representative organ of the UN. AGENDA- TACKLING ALL FORMS OF RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO ISLAMOPHOBIA
UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION UNHRC promotes and safeguards the fundamental human rights. AGENDA- THE LEGAL STATUS OF LGBT WITH REFERENCE TO SAME SEX MARRIAGE
AGENDA UNITED NATIONS GENERAL ASSEMBLY The primary deliberative, policy making representative organ of the UN. The United Nations (UN) General Assembly (GA) Committee discusses and offers solutions for social, cultural, and humanitarian matters. Over time, the work of this committee has evolved to deal with mostly human rights issues, making it the world s largest and most prominent forum for international human rights norm creation. AGENDA
TACKLING ALL FORMS OF RELIGIOUS DISCRIMINATION WITH SPECIAL REFERENCE TO ISLAMOPHOBIA The concepts of religious freedom and religious discrimination are clearly closely related: freedom of religion will be fettered with if its exercise leads to discrimination at work. Yet the right to religious freedom is not absolute, and limits placed on religious freedom in the context of work can be justified when necessary to protect the rights of other. Accommodating religious interests in a way that does not disproportionately interfere with the rights of others, of course, presents the real challenge in this area. The situation of Islamophobia took a turn for the worse in the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks in the US. Discrimination and intolerance towards Muslims and defamation of Islam, particularly in Europe and North America, reached alarming and unprecedented proportions. Distortion of the image of Islam and smear campaigns to defame this faith as supportive of extremism have been on the rise as Muslims are treated with suspicion and in many cases profiled as potential terrorists. As a result, they became victims of various forms of discrimination, stereotyping, and violation of their human rights. In light of these circumstances the agenda has been set up.
UNITED NATIONS HUMAN RIGHTS COUNCIL The Human Rights Council is an inter-governmental body within the United Nations system responsible for strengthening the promotion and protection of human rights around the globe and for addressing situations of human rights violations and make recommendations on them. It has the ability to discuss all thematic human rights issues and situations that require its attention throughout the year. It meets at the UN Office at Geneva. AGENDA
THE LEGAL STATUS OF LGBT WITH REFERENCE TO SAME SEX MARRIAGE In many parts of the world, individuals are subject to serious human rights abuses because of their real or perceived sexual orientation and gender identity. Lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and inter sex ( LGBTI ) persons have been able to obtain international protection in some countries but not in others. What is pertinent is that the States practices regarding rights of LGBT individuals vary widely across the globe. Many States have several LGBT rights laws in place, but are missing others. Likewise, in States that have anti-lgbt laws the severity has a wide range. Therefore it is required that a unified policy is drafted at the global level which keeps into consideration the rights of individuals who are concerned.
Application Procedure As an individual delegate, send in your application individually by filling the given form link. In the case of delegation, a representative can send in the application on behalf of the entire delegation.» All members of the delegation must be from the same institution.» There are two committees in the conference. There must be representation in both the committees. Conference Fee (2 Days) National delegates -INR 1000 (with food, accommodation, socials)

Dewri Mandir is located in Tamar 60 km toward south from the capital of Jharkhand i.e. Ranchi. It is on the Tata- Ranchi Highway (NH33). It is a very old temple of Goddess Durga. The main attraction is that the idol is having 16 Hands (Normally Goddess Durga is having 8 Hands). The temple is very old and now renovation is going on. It is made up of big stone put one over other without any cementing material in between. Dedicated to Solha Bhuji Goddess, an avatar of Goddess Durga, Dewri Mandir temple is located a little outside the main city of Ranchi. Spread over nearly 2 acres, this old temple in Ranchi also houses an idol of Lord Shiva here. Legend has it that whoever has tried to alter the structure of the temple has had to face the wrath of the gods and suffer consequences. Dewri Temple is also believed to be the only temple where 6 tribal priests, known as Pahan, perform rituals and offer prayers alongside the Brahmin priests. Located about 60 km from Ranchi, this temple is on the right side of the Ranchi-Tata road, toward the town of Tamar.
