Indian Meteorological Department: started issuing advisories a couple years ago, with 15 day forecasts and regular updates. Emergency response needs to be improved Cooling centres must be created in public spaces Water distribution must be arranged for, health workers Hospitals must be prepared Ambulances should carry icepacks

5 It is also up to communities to protect themselves, to teach people how to minimise exposure, stay hydrated, and how to deal with heat exhaustion, cramps and heat stroke. There must be an effort to adjust the hours for strenuous work, where possible. A comprehensive response will call upon everyone to pitch in, government, businesses and civil society must pool their efforts to stay cool.

A conclusion that it is mandatory to make entries in the Station Diary, and failure to do so would be fatal for the prosecution is wrong, a Supreme Court Bench of Justices N.V. Ramana and Abdul Nazeer said in a judgment overturning a Karnataka High Court decision to quash criminal proceedings in a corruption case. The court, however, clarified that though there is an obligation for a police officer to maintain a General Diary, such non-maintenance per se may not render the whole prosecution illegal.

Carbon monoxide (CO) is a major air pollutant that poses a serious threat to health. The new composite material is made of graphene and an alloy of platinum and palladium in the form of nanoparticles.

Moon and Kim exchanged views to pave way for a summit between North Korea and the United States, according to South Korea's presidential office. The two leaders held talks for two hours in the truce village of Panmunjom, where they had met last month and made a declaration vowing to improve ties.
