2 Which arm do you need? To ensure that the balancing arm you order meets your expectations it is important to consider the following aspects. 1. Which type? PARALLEL ARM Stationary. Vertical working motion, such as threading. Can be mounted on table, wall or pillar. RAIL SUPPORTED ARM Rails permit unlimited reach. Can be used over several work stations, or several arms can share rails at one work station. Can be mounted between pillars fixed to ceiling, wall or floor. DO YOU NEED ERROR PROOFING? You can upgrade Folding arms and most Rail arms with Smart-Control. Smart-Control upgrade adds three encoders to specific torque arms, at the pivot locations, and a control system. To decide the correct load capacity for a balancing arm you need to take the following into account: Weight of cables, hoses, etc. to tool/machine Weight of tool/machine Weight of any extension tube The design of the tool and type of operation determine the choice of tool holder. Tool holders are available that are fixed, or can tilt and rotate to permit horizontal or vertical operations.. + Weight of tool holder = Total weight to use when choosing load capacity Choose the correct size of tool holder by measuring the diameter of the selection of the tool or machine that will be held in the tool holder. If necessary, the tool holder can be combined with one of our specially made adapter sleeves. NOTE! When the shaft of a power screwdriver is parallel with the rotating axis of the tool holder, the torque will not be eliminated. WHAT IS SMART-CONTROL? Smart-Control upgrade adds positional tracking to your torque arm. The Smart-Control knows the X, Y & Z location of your tool and synchronizes the location with the tool control system. Smart-Control Features: Program 5 jobs with 40 screw locations each. Add a bit/socket tray to confirm the correct applicator is used. Add Smart-Bins to confirm the correct screw is used.
