1 The University of Hong Kong (HKU) Originally founded by the London Missionary Society in 1887 & Sun Yat-sen s alma mater; The oldest modern university in Greater China; Motto is "Sapientia et Virtus" in Latin, meaning Wisdom and Virtue", and " 明德格物 " in Chinese ; Design of the HKU s crest displays its early aspiration to blend East and West; The Main Building in 1912 World University Rankings by the Times Higher Education Supplement in 2008: Ranked 26 th in the world & 3 rd in Asia; Ranked 1 st in the Greater China region which includes PRC; HKSAR; Macau SAR and Taiwan HKU was also included in the 2006 Newsweek rankings of the Top 100 Global Universities.
2 Department of Extra-Mural Studies, established in 1956, was the first continuing education unit in a university in the region; Renamed as the School of Professional and Continuing Education (HKU SAPCE) an extension arm of HKU; With some 900 full time staff and over 2,000 part-time teachers, it has been a premier local provider of professional and continuing education serving HKSAR, Mainland China and the region; Deeply committed to promote lifelong learning for the realization of a learning society in the knowledge economy and the community pursuit of quality life; Enrolments since 1956 have exceeded 1.9 million and annual enrolment now exceeds 100,000 each year; Privileged to collaborate with 62 institutions drawn from HKSAR, Mainland China and overseas, primarily the UK, the USA and Australia.
3 HKU SPACE Anti-Corruption programmes Two major anti-corruption programmes: Postgraduate Certificate in Corruption Studies Executive Certificate in Anti-Corruption
4 Postgraduate Certificate in Corruption Studies Developed in response to the global concern in corruption and the need for training of professionals and experts in combating corruption; Building on the success story of Hong Kong anti-corruption experiences, it aims to develop analytical and technical aspects of anti-corruption studies that trained professionals will need in combating corruption; Firstly launched in January 2003 and now has gone through 6 intakes of students; A total of 181 delegates, mostly senior officials of anti-corruption authorities coming from 33 countries and regions, have successfully completed this programme; Has now gained a threshold of international recognition as one of the leading training courses in corruption studies round the world;
