1 Political Science and International Affairs, BA 1 Political Science and International Affairs, BA Through this combined major, successful s will develop an awareness of global affairs and international relations since the early 20th century. The combined major addresses diverse and crossdisciplinary theories of interstate relations (conflict, cooperation, hierarchies); civil society, transnational advocacy networks, global social movements; political processes, institutions, and actors; and statesociety relations (democracy, authoritarianism, inequalities, citizenship). Program Requirements Complete all courses listed below unless otherwise indicated. Also complete any corequisite labs, recitations, clinicals, or tools courses where specified and complete any additional courses needed beyond specific college and major requirements to satisfy graduation credit requirements. University-Wide Requirements All students are required to complete the University- Wide Requirements ( university-academics/university-wide-requirements). BA Language Requirements All BA students are required to complete the BA requirements ( nupath/ba-requirements). NUpath Requirements All students are required to complete the NUpath Requirements ( university-academics/nupath). Experiential Liberal Arts All students in the College of Social Sciences and Humanities are required to complete the Experiential Liberal Arts Requirement ( Political Science Requirements Political Science Requirements 1150 American Government 1155 Comparative Politics 1160 International Relations 200 Quantitative Techniques Political Theory Modern Political Thought American Political Thought Contemporary Political Thought Political Science Electives/Concentration for BA Complete four upper-division political science s, or complete one of the following concentrations. If you are working toward a concentration, declare it with your advisor in order for it to be added to your record. Requirements for the concentrations are listed below (p. 3). Political Science Electives Complete four political science courses at or above Concentration in Campaigns and Elections (p. 3) Concentration in Comparative Politics (p. ) Concentration in Identity, Culture, and Politics (p. ) Concentration in International Relations and Diplomacy (p. ) Concentration in Security Studies (p. ) International Affairs Requirements Courses used to fulfill major requirements may not be used to satisfy the global dynamics requirement. Peoples and Cultures (ANTH 1101), The World Since 195 (HIST 2211), and International Relations ( 1160) may not be used as global dynamics courses. See department for additional courses.
