Candidate comment: Gross Income Tax DONALD NORCROSS GARRY COBB FRANK LOBIONDO BILL HUGHES JR AIMEE BELGARD TOM MACARTHUR 37. Candidate comment: The ACA has further damaged an already broken healthcare system and is hurting our economy; it should be repealed and replaced. We need to lower costs by enacting tort reform and instituting market-based ideas, such as allowing businesses to pool together in order to buy insurance and permitting insurance to be sold across state lines. We also must protect patient choice and improve access to care for those that cannot find coverage anywhere else. 38. Candidate comment: Individuals and businesses should not be forced to violate their own moral or religious beliefs. At the same time, individuals and businesses have an obligation to abide by existing anti-discrimination laws and treat all persons equally and with respect. 39. Candidate comment: The decision to increase the minimum wage should be left up to each individual state, allowing them to act in the best interests of their own citizens, as opposed to a one-size fits all approach being mandated by the federal government. 40. Candidate comment: My wife and I are pro-life and have lived out this conviction in our own life, carrying and then raising a special-needs child, Grace, who lived for 11 years. Grace validated everything we believe about how precious and sacred life is. I believe there must be exceptions in cases of rape or incest, in addition to cases when it s necessary to save the life of the mother. 41. Candidate comment: I favor measures such as this in failing school districts so all children and parents are provided an opportunity to receive a high quality education. 42. Candidate comment: I support tax reform that makes our federal code flatter, simpler and lower, and that incentivizes economic growth and savings. 43. Candidate comment: This is an issue I need to examine more closely. CHRIS SMITH RUBEN SCOLAVINO ROY CHO FRANK PALLONE JR ANTHONY E. WILKINSON 76. Candidate comment: Upon repeal, this Act must be replaced with a better solution for addressing the health care crisis. 77. Candidate comment: The minimum wage should not be so low that full time pay still qualifies a single worker (no children) for welfare. 78. Candidate comment: There must be exceptions based upon religion. 79. Candidate comment: Fair Tax is undefined here. I am in favor of tax reform to create a flatter and fairer system with lower income tax rates. LEONARD LANCE JANICE KOVACH ALBIO SIRES JUDE TISCORNIA BILL PASCRELL votesmart.org/candidate/political-courage-test/478/bill-pascrell-jr/ DIERDRE PAUL 112. Candidate comment: I don t believe that this effort is pragmatic until a Republican president is elected Candidate comment: This issue is a moral one; rape and incest should be included, as well Candidate comment: Legalizing makes it taxable and enhances safety and quality control. DONALD PAYNE: Abortion.htm RODNEY FRELINGHUYSEN MARK DUNEC 131. Candidate comment: I am for universal healthcare a single payer system Candidate comment: I believe in two tier minimum wage. 1. High school/college 2. Everyone else Candidate comment: Pro-Choice 134. Candidate comment: I am fiscally responsible would not want to increase deficit or debt Candidate comment: I support for medical reasons 136.
