GENERAL This order is intended to explain the gej18l'8l courtroom procedures for cases assigned tu Calendar 0, This Court reserves the right to modify the procedures when necessary and appropriate. 2. 2 3. COURTESY COpy RULE Unless otherwise ordered by the Court, courtesy copies ofany documents or filings shall be delivered to the Court at least 3 :days in advance. 4. CHE(:K IN WITH CLERK Upon arrival in the courtroom, please cheek-in with the Clerk so that your matter may be called when both parties anive. s. COURT REPORTERS Generally, except for prove-ups and Ex-wte Emergency Orders of Protection~ Calendar G does not have acowt reporter. it is generally the responsibility ofthe party to PrQvide the cowt reporter. 6. ROUTINE MOTIONS MOtiOllS for appointment o( special process servers, for approval ofn()tice by publication. and applications to sue or defend as an indigent person may be presented to the cowt any moming the Court is in session. 7. EMEnGENCY MOTIONS I Emerg.ency motions shall be noticed for 9:00 a.m. A courtesy copy of the emergency motion must be provided: to the Clerk upon check-in if not previously, provided. 8. AGR}:ED ORDERS Agreed orders, whether scheduled on the Cowt's dally call, Or heard as addons to the cab, generally will be heard between 9:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. The Court will not necessarily break from a hearing or a pretrial to hear agreed orders brought to the Court later than 10:30 a.m.,please check in with the Clerk and advise herlhim that you have an agreed order. 9. PROVIt. UPS Unless a prove-up is scheduled by the Co~ an uncontested or default proveup must be scheduled on the Court's docket by the Clerk ofthe Court ofcook County. There is a limit of 6 prove-ups per day.

3 When you check in with the clerk, please provide her with the required proveup documents, including a court reporter sheet ifrelevant, 'and advise herlhim whether your matter is a default or an uncontested matter. Default prove-ups may be reassigned ifthe Court does ~ot have a court reporter assigned for the day. For.ca~es involving children, please be prepared to advise the Court whether the parties have completed Focus on Children. If the parties have not completed Focus on Children., they will be required to attend after the prove-up. 10. POSTCARD PROGRESS, CALL Cases ure automatically assigned to the Thursday 1:30 p.m. postcard progress call by the Clerk ofthe Court. When a matter is heard for the first time on the court's progress call, 811 attorney or party with knowledge ofthe case is expected to attend~ and advise the Court of the progress ofthe case. Ifthe parties have children, Focus on Children will be ordered if not previously ordered. Ifa cast;! does not have any future dates after the progress call date. the failure of at least one party to appear will result in the case being dismissed for want of prosecution.,. 11. CONTESTED MOTIONS Contested Motions shall be scheduled with the Clerk ofthe Circuit Court of Cook County unless otherwise ordered by the Court. The Clerk ofthe Circuit Court has 10 morion slots per day for this calendar. It is suggested that a file stamped courtesy copy ofthe new motion and the notice olmotion be delivered prior to initial presentment. Ifa courtesy copy is not delivered prior to initial presentment, the Motion and Notice ofmotion must be tendered to the Court upon presentment. The Cmm will set a briefing schedule and hearing date. For ease of scheduling, please be prepared to advise the Court as to the amount oftime it will take to present and hear your matter. 12. PRETRIALS/CASE MANAGEMENT CONFERENCES The COWl will schedule its own pre-trials and case management conferences. When requesting a pre-trial, please be prepared to advise the Court as to the amount oftime you believe you will need for the pre-trial, whether you would like the parties to be present or available by telephone. and whether you will request the Court to waive a pre-trial memorandum. The court will require the parties to

4 complete a pre-trial/case management scheduling order for Calendar G (attached as exhibit A) A date for presentment ofpre-trial memoranda will be scheduled for all pretrials requiring memoranda. Failure ofeither party to present a memorandum may result in the premtriai being stricken. Ifpre--triai memoranda are waived by the Court. the Court routinely will require the partit$ to provide courtesy copies ofthe relevant pleadings and Disclosure Statements of the parties. Failure ofthe parties to provide the courtesy copies 3 days in advance. or as otherwise ordered by the Court, may result in your matter being stricken. from the call. Case Management Conferences are scheduled by the Court. Failure ofthe parties to pruvide courtesy copies ofrequested pleadings 3 days in advance or as otherwise ordered by the Court. may result in your matter being stricken from the call. Primary counsels or counsel familiar with the case are expected to attend. 13. TRlAl..s AND LONGER EVIDENTIARY HEARINGS Generally, trials and longer evidentill}' hearings will be scheduled for half days beginning at 1:30 p.m. The Court will schedule its own trials and longer evidentill}' hearings. Trial d"ltes are finn. The Court will not consider agreed motions to continue trials once scheduled except on written motion with good cause shown. When scheduling a trial or longer matter, please be prepared to provide the Court with a realistic assessment ofhow long the matter will take to try. The Court will require the parties to complete a trial order. (Attached as exhibit B) 14. INTERPRETERS If a Polish or Spanish interpreter is needed, the Coordinator must be notified immediately upon check in. However, jfa Polish or Spanish interpteter is required for longer hearings or trials~ the parties must provide their own interpreter. Ifan interpreter other than Polish or Spanish is needed, the Coordinator must be advised 72 hours in advance or it will not be possible to provide an interpreter. However, if an interpreter other than Spanish or Polish is needed for longer hearings or trials, the parties must provide their own.
