1 Directions This is an application to amend the Davidson County Zoning Ordinance. This application can be used to propose a rezoning to a particular piece of property (Map Amendment), or it can be used to propose a change to the wording of the Zoning Ordinance (Text Amendment). To apply for a Map Amendment or Text Amendment, please follow these steps. 1. Print this document. 2. Pages 2 and 3 are for the applicant to fill out. The applicant can be the Property Owner, or a representative of the owner, such as an attorney or developer. 3. The applicant should fill out only those sections marked in BLUE. Any sections in RED should be left blank. 4. DO NOT fill out the questions on pages 4 and 5. These pages are for the Planning Department to type your written application on. The only part of this section the applicant needs to complete is to sign the bottom of page Bring all 5 pages of this application, as well as the Application Fee, to the Planning Department located on the 3 rd Floor of the Government Center (Application Fees vary by zoning type. See the Fee Schedule for the proper amount for your application). Make sure that the bottom of pages 2 and 4 are signed! 1

3 Davidson County Planning Department Name: Contents of Application: All applications for amendments to this ordinance, without limiting the right to file additional material, shall contain at least the following (applicant may attach additional sheets if necessary): (a) If the proposed amendment would require a change in the ZONING ATLAS, a fully dimensioned map at a scale of not less than 400 feet nor more than 20 feet to the inch showing the land which would be covered by the proposed amendment. (b) A legal description of such land, if applicable. (c) Any alleged error in this ordinance which would be corrected by the proposed amendment with a detailed explanation of such error in the ordinance and detailed reasons how the proposed amendment will correct same. (d) The changed or changing conditions, if any, in a particular area or in the county generally, which make the proposed amendment reasonably necessary to the promotion of the public health, safety, and general welfare. (e) The manner in which the proposed amendment will carry out the intent and purpose of a comprehensive plan. (f) All other circumstances, factors, and reasons which applicant offers in support of the proposed amendment. 3
