1 O R D E R The Public Interest Litigations are filed raising various issues of general public importance. It is expected that a Public Interest Litigation is brought to its logical end at the earliest considering the nature of the issues raised and the effect thereof on the general Public. However, it is noticed that in this High Court, the Public Interest Litigations are pending since years together and are piling up. This is against the aim and object of filing Public Interest Litigation to seek immediate remedies on the issues of general public importance. In order to achieve the object of speedy disposal of the Public Interest Litigations, it is found necessary to distribute the Public Interest Litigations amongst various Benches so that the Public Interest Litigations would be disposed of in a reasonable period. In consonance with this idea the Public Interest Litigations are categorized in various groups. These groups cover various subjects as enlisted in the lists appended hereto. Relating to Children, their rights and offences against them so also relating to any other issue affecting children Note : i) This administrative order, however, will not affect the Public Interest Litigations that are disposed of till date and are kept pending for compliance etc. Such Public Interest Litigations which are kept pending for compliance/directions etc. shall be with the same Court to which it is assigned prior to this order. ii) If the Public Interest Litigation which is specially assigned as per the earlier order to a particular Division Bench, then such Public Interest Litigation shall be placed before the Court to which it is assigned as per this Administrative Order.

7 iii) This order shall supersede all earlier administrative orders specially assigning the Public Interest Litigations to the Court except the following Public Interest Litigations : 1) Appellate Side P.I.L.
