During the Permit Processing background investigation, an adverse history was discovered. The application was referred to Commission Investigation Division (CID), for further investigation. The Investigating Officer conducted an investigation and recommended that the permit be denied for the following reason. REASON I On or about October 2, 2011, officers of the Los Angeles Police Department, Rampart Area answered a "Domestic Violence" call at 621 S. Burlington Ave. Applicant Alvarez was arrested for violently assaulting his girlfriend and her two children. This arrest led to applicant Alvarez being convicted of a felony violation of Penal Code (PC) 245(a)(1) (Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Great Bodily Injury), and sentenced to 3 years' probation and 365 days in jail. This action violates Los Angeles Municipal Code (LAMC) Section (c)(1)(i). LAMC states that a permit SHALL be denied if an applicant is guilty of a violation such as 245(a)(1) PC (Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Great Bodily Injury). Applicant Alvarez is on formal probation until January 15, Based on the above listed violations, CID recommends that the permit application for Valet Parking Attendant of be DENIED.
