READING Exercise 1: What s missing? (5-6 minutes) Read the following MAGAZINE ARTICLE carefully. Choose the best word that would fill in the blanks. Illegal Residence Among Teenagers Is On Fire! The issue of illegal immigration has reached a fever pitch. But what about those who are caught in the cross-hairs and didn't even know it? Economists at Bear Stearns, a leading Wall Street firm, tell us there are almost 20 million people living in the United States.
