10 EDUCATION IN UNITED STATES Middle school in Winchester, MA Attended the Governor s Academy in Byfield, MA for high school Wanted to attend college in a warm climate Inspired by high school math teacher to study Engineering Studied Electrical Engineering at the University of San Diego

11 Return to South Sudan GIVING BACK In 2008, traveled back to Theou Decided to join with Village Help for South Sudan to build a school for the village Theou Village School Layout Bringing Electricity to Theou For the primary school and the entire community Part of Senior Design Project School Administrators

12 PROJECT DEVELOPMENT Off Grid Energy Source Different than what we are used to in the United States Must be standalone and long-lasting No history of electricity in Theou Requirements Renewable (Solar Energy) Reliable (Battery Storage) Solar Energy Cost effective where there is no electricity grid Abundant Sun in South Sudan (Comparable to Arizona)
