Describe the developments and how they positively affected South Explain the rise of the textile industry in South Carolina, including conditions that made it possible and the impact it had on the railroad system and the state. Summarize the effect of Jim Crow laws on African Americans and South Identify specific Jim Crow laws and limitations which affected African American s right to vote. Summarize changes in South Carolina s economy in the twentieth century. Identify factors that had a positive and/or negative impact on South Carolina s economy. Discuss trends in the cotton/textile industry over time, such as overproduction or changes in demand due to war. Explain reasons for the growth of tourism in South Carolina Explain the impact of the growth of other industries in twentieth century South Explain the causes and effects of migration on South Compare the migration patterns of African Americans and white South Carolinians.
