9 1) The above proforma costs cover: - Volunteer entitlements payable to UN Volunteers (eg. Volunteer Living Allowance, Settling-in-Grant and Resettlement Allowance) - UNV Volunteer Assignment costs (eg. Medical and Life Insurance premiums, Training and Orientation, Travel and Sundry which includes monitoring travel and medical evacuation costs) and UNV Volunteer Management related costs (eg. Enhanced Field Presence (EFP), Volunteer Management Cost (VMC) and Country Office Support Cost (COSC). These are charged to the hosting UN Agencies 2) Rates are subject to changes based on the UNV annual Global charges and the change in the VLA rate based on the results of UN local salary surveys. * Cost of living varies significantly between duty stations in the same country. The VLA system introduces different levels of VLA for different duty stations in the same country. There will be a maximum of 3 VLA rates in any given country dependent on the cost of living in each duty station.
