The Minister informed that Japan has recognized the OIE regionalization principle only 2 times in the past: FMD in Brazil and AI in USA. 10 Meeting COM with Japanese authorities MAFF in Tokyo: The urged Japan to recognise the zoning measures put in place and thus to lift the country-wide ban imposed on Poland. Detailed information on the measures was discussed, especially concerning the legislative measures in place, surveillance and scientific opinions covering wild boar movements and various other issues. Japan signalled that it would consider regionalisation for Poland but would need to evaluate all the information. MAFF stated that a face-to-face expert meeting will be scheduled with Polish experts in Tokyo then MAFF will dispatch a study team to Poland. The EU asked Japan to 10 P a g e

11 inform, if any additional data would be needed in order to avoid any undue delays in the process and highlighted the possibility of information exchange between experts, e.g. through a videoconference. Information received from Japan on 7 May 2014: Meeting with the Polish experts took place 30 April and as a conclusion the Japanese government is prepared to apply zoning. In order for them to do so, Poland received on 19 May a questionnaire concerning zoning to be filled in and sent back to JP in June. Once Poland has replied and Japan assessed, on-site inspection by Japanese experts in Poland will follow. The fact that no further cases have been detected is deemed the most important element in Japan's 11 P a g e

The EU conveyed the message that Poland is currently working to answer all the questions and highlighted that Korea needs to keep both the and Poland informed of the process and any information requests to avoid any delays in the process. This measure applies on import of: live s and its genetic material; ready to eat, containing pork, except for cats' and dogs' feed (which were heat treated no less than 70ºC for at least 20 minutes); pork and raw pork. containing pork subject to treatments RUS inspection to PL as regards final containing pork subject to treatments. RUS audit has been carried out in Poland between 23 and 27 June June 2014: EU launch of WTO Panel on ASF against RUS. At the Dispute Settlement Body (DSB) meeting on 10 July, the European Union requested the establishment of a panel on what it said were by the Russian Federation on imports of live s, pork and other from the EU. Prohibition of import of s, pork and raw materials into the territory of Ukraine from the territory of LT. Prohibition of imports as of 17/2/14 of susceptible to ASF animals,, raw materials and their reproductive material into the territory of Ukraine from the territory of PL NO NO EU comments on SPS notification dated 24 February 2014 as well as 14 March PL: since Information on ASF situation and monitoring sent from the General Veterinary Inspectorate (GIV) to Polish Embassy in Kiev every week (with ne monitoring data) General Veterinary Inspectorate (GIW) sent to Ukrainian CVO letter asking for changes in health certificates for pork and pork. The letter included additional information on ASF situation in PL, requested by UA. 4 June - Polish Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development is going to Kiev to meet Minister Shvaika. Information on ASF situation and monitoring is being sent to Ukraine on a regular basis. PL media reports: Polish AGRI ministers announced Ukraine will abolish embargo on PL pork and beef without bones on 17 June Veterinary and Phytosanitary Service of 28 P a g e

29 Ukraine informed in a letter dated 19 June that, basing on the results of an audit carried out in Poland on June, Ukraine has lifted the ban on s, pork and its from Poland, except for Podlaskie Region. 08/2014: New conditions are required as from August, including test per consignment, also on meat. EU comments on SPS notification dated 6 August and Corrigendum dated 16 September : EU-Ukraine SPS meeting in Kiev: EU requested Ukraine to apply the regionalization principle according to WTO SPS Agreement and lift the PCR testing for all animal and of origin from the whole territory of Poland.
