16 Conclusions Dilemma of migration in Bangladesh: very poor/uninformed people and very costly/difficult migration High risk of failure both before leaving (34-40%) and after (1%) Huge reward of successful migration but huge cost of failed migration Main proximate causes of failed migration attempts: Fraudulent agent and visa problem: 59% Financial problem: 20% Success driven by international demand for migrants. 16
