Join certain branches of the U.S. Armed Forces. 10. Purchase or own a firearm. Responsibilities of Lawful Permanent Residents: 11.Obey all federal, state, and local laws. 12. Pay federal, state, and local income taxes. 13. Man 18-26: register with the Selective Service (U.S. Armed Forces) 14. Maintain your immigration status. 15. Carry proof of your permanent resident status at all times. 16. Give your new address in writing to the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) within 10 days of each time You move.
