Concerns raised by ACFN regarding the sampling included: the need for sampling, the sample size, the potential adverse effects on the survival of the herd, the sources of funding for the study, the inclusion of ACFN members in the study to recover the sampled bison carcasses, and Government of Alberta policies which do not specifically include Bison as a protected species. Teck received feedback from the CAG including concerns regarding traffic on highways near Fort McKay, trucks entering Fort McKay in error, who should pay for road improvements to regional highways, the positives of rail as a transport option, how Shell and Teck could share a camp to lessen footprints, and how elders do not want a compensation lake because it is an impact in and of itself.
