1 See pg. 3 for the RPOF positions on proposed Constitutional amendments. OCTOBER 2018 I would be hard pressed to address anything this month other than the way the Democrats have openly tried to destroy Judge Brett Kavanaugh and his family, during the Senate hearings on his nomination to the Supreme Court. It is nothing short of a national disgrace. The Democrats have shown again they have no moral values whatsoever in their pursuit of pushing their socialist left wing agenda. No one is exempt. It really doesn t matter how good a life an individual has led, as is shown by Judge Kavanaugh. If you are a conservative, you are just raw meat for the character assignation squad of the Democratic Party. They will stop at nothing to destroy any conservative or their families. We have seen countless examples of elected Republicans getting physically attacked. What is happening to Judge Kavanaugh is a new low, even for the Democrats. There is no limit to their behavior. Screaming at Republican Congressmen in the Halls of Congress and restaurants seems to be the new standard of intimidation. The polls now show that the Democrats are likely to capture the House and that the Senate is a toss-up. The thought of this is frightening in that every attempt will be made to impeach President Trump and roll back the countless successes of his administration to date. The stock market will probably see the deepest drop in its history, because we all know that incompetency will reign again. If this should happen, and any attempt to impeach President Trump becomes real, I believe a massive march on Washington and outright organized resistance on the part of every conservative to save the America we know and love is in order. It is hoped that the Democrats realize that this could be the proverbial straw that broke the camel s back. We need to get everyone to get out and vote. The ballot box is our first line of defense. The successes of the first two years of the Trump Administration have been an economic miracle. It is one that only President Trump could have made happen. The Democrats simply don t have a clue when it comes to business. Now is Show Time for bringing civility back to our political process. We need to win this election. If you have time, the Republican Party is looking for volunteers to make calls in support of our candidates. The system that is being used allows you to make calls from the comfort of your home. Please let me know if you can devote some time to helping get Republican candidates elected. Sept. 15, 2018 saw over 150 loyal Republican Club members, local politicians and friends gather at the bay front Center in Punta Gorda for the annual HOG-WILD-HOG. BBQ & Blue GRASS festival. With catering provided by Big John and his family crew and music by the Florida mountain men good spirits and Republican comradery was much in evidence. See pictures on pages 4 & 5.
2 Page 2 Another controversial issue Page 2 Robert R. Mc Millin Having written various columns for The New York Times, Newsday, The Charlotte Sun, and The Anton Community Newspapers, over the last 30 years, the reaction I get on various pieces is very interesting. Also, interesting to me is how the number of s has increased. Readers have sent intelligent responses about everything from China to government spending and from global warming to protecting your home while you are away. While I am not looking for negative comments, I am sure today s subject will be somewhat controversial. I want to provide some facts about the number of people here without authorization illegal immigrants. First, I have to admit that more than seventy-five years ago, I had an Uncle, Robert McMillan, from Canada, who came to the New York area to drive a bakery truck. He did not have a work visa and was here at the suggestion of his brother, my Dad. My uncle was discovered and forced to return to Canada. Now, look at the facts. Right now, there are around 11.7 million unauthorized immigrants living in the United States. Mexico leads the parade with over 7 million illegals. El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala are next with some 1.3 million living here. China follows with over 220 thousand unauthorized immigrants. Why be concerned about these people who are here illegally? Well, first, they are a burden on our schools. Hospitals, for example, spend over $50 billion to care for unauthorized immigrants. And you know who pays that bill you and me! Now some people argue that the illegals pay taxes Social Security and income. Well, if they do, another crime is being committed. You cannot get a Social Security number unless you are here legally. Unless you have a Social Security number, it is not possible to fill out an income tax form nor have taxes withheld from your pay check. Every employer who hires unauthorized immigrants is acting illegally. Yet, no Presidential leadership has stepped up to stop the flow of illegals until Donald Trump took office. Believe me, if employers had the law enforced, fewer unauthorized immigrants would flow across our borders. Now, if you think we should have no concern here in Charlotte County, look at the facts. Florida has over 900 thousand unauthorized immigrants the highest of any state. The challenge we have here is enforcement of selective laws no matter which party controls the Executive Branch. And Sanctuary Cities are not the ethical answer!! I wonder if we will ever get back to the days which caught my unauthorized immigrant Uncle and had him leave the United States? The law should be enforced, and the Wall built! What do you think?

6 How Do Civil Wars Happen? Page 6 This is one of the last works by Dr. Jack D. Minzey. The author was head of the Department at eastern Michigan University as well as author of numerous books, most of which focused on Education and the Governments role. He died on Sunday, April 8, 2018 How Do Civil Wars Happen? Two or more sides disagree on who runs the country. And they can't settle the question through elections because they don't even agree that elections are how you decide who's in charge. That's the basic issue here. Who decides who runs the country? When you hate each other but accept the election results, you have a country. When you stop accepting election results, you have a countdown to a civil war. The Mueller investigation is about removing President Trump from office and overturning the results of an election. We all know that. But it's not the first time they've done this. The first time a Republican president was elected this century, they said he didn't really win. The Supreme Court gave him the election. There's a pattern here. What do sure odds of the Democrats rejecting the next Republican president really mean? It means they don't accept the results of any election that they don't win. It means they don't believe that transfers of power in this country are determined by elections. That's a civil war. There's no shooting. At least not unless you count the attempt to kill a bunch of Republicans at a charity baseball game practice. But the Democrats have rejected our system of government. This isn't dissent. It's not disagreement. You can hate the other party. You can think they're the worst thing that ever happened to the country. But then you work harder to win the next election. When you consistently reject the results of elections that you don't win, what you want is a dictatorship. Your very own dictatorship. The only legitimate exercise of power in this country, according to Democrats, is its own. Whenever Republicans exercise power, it's inherently illegitimate. The Democrats lost Congress. They lost the White House. So what did they do? They began trying to run the country through Federal judges and bureaucrats. Every time that a Federal judge issues an order saying that the President of the United States can't scratch his own back without his say so, that's the civil war. Our system of government is based on the constitution, but that's not the system that runs this country. The Democrat's system is that any part of government that it runs gets total and unlimited power over the country. If the Democrats are in the White House, then the president can do anything. And I mean anything. He can have his own amnesty for illegal aliens. He can fine you for not having health insurance. His power is unlimited. He's a dictator. But when Republicans get into the White House, suddenly the President can't do anything. He isn't even allowed to undo the illegal alien amnesty that his predecessor illegally invented. A Democrat in the White House has 'discretion' to completely decide every aspect of immigration policy. A Republican doesn't even have the 'discretion' to reverse him. That's how the game is played That's how our country is run. Sad but true, although the left hasn't yet won that particular fight. When a Democrat is in the White House, states aren't even allowed to enforce immigration law. But when a Republican is in the White House, states can create their own immigration laws. Under Obama, a state wasn't allowed to go to the bathroom without asking permission. But under Trump, Jerry Brown can go around saying that California is an independent republic and sign treaties with other countries. Continued pg. 7
7 Page 6 Page 7 How Do Civil Wars Happen? Page 7 Continued from pg. 6. The Constitution has something to say about that whether it's Federal or State, Executive, Legislative or Judiciary, the left moves power around to run the country. If it controls an institution, then that institution is suddenly the supreme power in the land. This is what I call a moving dictatorship. Donald Trump has caused the Shadow Government to come out of hiding: Professional government is a guild. Like medieval guilds. You can't serve in it if you're not a member. If you haven't been indoctrinated into its arcane rituals. If you aren't in the club, and Trump isn't in the club. He brought in a bunch of people with him who also are NOT in the club. Now we're seeing what the pros do when amateurs try to walk in on them. They spy on them, they investigate them and they send them to jail. They use the tools of power to bring them down. That's not a free country. It's not a free country when FBI agents who support Hillary take out an 'insurance policy' against Trump winning the election. It's not a free country when Obama officials engage in massive unmasking of the opposition. It's not a free country when the media responds to the other guy winning by trying to ban the conservative media that supported him from social media. It's not a free country when all of the above collude together to overturn an election because the guy who wasn't supposed to win... WON. Have no doubt. We are in a civil war. This war is between conservative volunteer government and a leftist Democrat professional government. "The true sign of intelligence is not knowledge but imagination.
