1 Future Business Leaders of America ARTICLE I. Name The name of this organization shall be the Mountain Home High School Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America. ARTICLE II. Purpose Section 1. The purpose of this FBLA Chapter is to provide as an integral part of the instructional program additional opportunities for students business and office education to develop vocational and career supportive competencies and to promote civic and personal responsibilities Section 2. The specific goal of this organization are to: Develop competent, aggressive business leadership; Strengthen the confidence of students in themselves and their work; Create more interest and understanding of American business enterprise; Encourage members in the development of individual projects which contribute to the improvement of home, business, and community; Develop character, prepare for useful citizenship, and foster patriotism; Encourage and practice efficient money management; Encourage scholarship and promote school loyalty; Assist students in the establishment of occupational goals; and Facilitate the transition from school to work ARTICLE III. Emblems and Insignia Section 1. The official emblem and insignia item designs are described and protected from infringement by registration in the U.S. Patent Office under the Trademark Act of The manufacture, reproduction, wearing, or display of shall be governed by the board of directors. Section 2. Emblems and insignia shall be in uniform in all local and state chapters and within special-emphasis groups: they shall be those of FBLA. Only members in good standing may use official emblems and insignia. Section 3. The official colors of FBLA shall be blue and good. ARTICLE IV. Organization Section 1. The chapter shall consist of students who have had or are currently enrolled in courses in the Department of Business at Mountain Home High School, Mountain Home, Arkansas. Section 2. Transfer students may also transfer FBLA membership as long as they were a member in good standing at their previous school.

2 ARTICLE V. Membership Section 1. Membership in FBLA is unified on the local, state, and national levels and is not available separately. Membership is established by the payment of local, state, and national in advance and by the fulfillment of other required obligations. Section 2. Membership shall consist of the four following classes of members: Active Membership- Any student who has had or is currently enrolled in a business program is entitled to become an active member of the Mountain Home Chapter of FBLA. A member may retain his active membership status throughout his/her school career by complying with the regulations and policies of FBLA Associate Membership- Any student who terminates their active, in-school membership but continues to comply with rules and policies of FBLA, may be an associate member. That person must pay dues but shall not participate in events, serve as voting delegates, or hold office. Professional Membership- Persons associated with or participating in the professional development of FBLA may qualify. They shall not participate in events, serve as voting delegates, or hold office. Honorary Life Membership- Persons who are assisting in the advancement of business and office education and/or who are rendering outstanding service to the Chapter may be elected to membership by a majority vote by active members. Honorary members shall not vote or hold office and shall not be required to pay dues. ARTICLE VI. Dues and Finance Section 1. The membership dues in the Future Business Leaders of America shall be $20.00 a year, of which $4.00 shall be remitted to the National Office; $2.00 to the State Office; $1.00 to the local treasury; and the remaining $13.00 for the local chapter t-shirt. Section 2. The fiscal year of the Future Business Leaders of America shall be July 1 through June 30 ARTICLE VII. Officers and Elections Section 1. Officers of the Chapter shall be president, vice-president, secretary, treasurer, reporter, historian, parliamentarian, fundraising chairman, special events chairman, and charitable events chairman. Other officers may be designated when desirable. These officers, with the advisers as ex-officio members, shall constitute the Executive Committee. Officers shall be elected at a regular meeting or event sometime after State Conference and before National Conference. A president may serve two consecutive terms. Officers assume their duties the day following the election.

3 Section 2. The Chapter shall have an adviser who shall be a faculty member from the business department. Section 3. Duties and qualifications of officers are included in the Appendix. ARTICLE VIII. Meetings There shall be at least one regular meeting each month while school is in session. Other meetings may be held as deemed advisable. ARTICLE IX. Amendments Amendments shall be submitted at a meeting and shall not be voted upon until the following regular meeting. A two-thirds vote of the membership shall be required for adoption. APPENDIX All officer candidates shall be provided a list of the duties and qualifications for the respective offices. In order to be elected, they must meet the qualifications and agree to assume the outlined duties. Ashlyn Tuberville, President 1. Preside over meetings, using correct parliamentary procedure. 2. Assist the advisers in organizing and carrying out the year's activities. 3. Attend leadership training 4. Represent the Chapter at special school events and in the community. 5. Work with the vice-president and secretary to prepare an agenda for each meeting. 6. Serve as an ex-officio member of all committees. 7. Counsel with other Chapter officers concerning their duties and responsibilities. 8. Conduct himself/herself at all times in a manner that reflects credit upon the chapter. 8. Attend and participate in all workshops and conferences. 9. Attend all FBLA chapter, district, and state meetings / conferences 10. Attend National Leadership Conference if chapter members are competing 1. Must have been a member of FBLA for one year and have held one office previously. 2. 4 Megan Chaney, Vice President FBLA Officer Position & Description 1. Assist the president. 2. Act for the president in the event of absence. 3. Responsible for membership recruitment. 4. Supervise all committee work and keep the president posted on committee progress and where help is needed. 5. Assist chairman of fundraising, service, and special events. 6. Be in charge of Annual Local Chapter Report to be entered in state competition. 7. Must attend and participate in all workshops and conferences. 8. Attend all FBLA chapter, district, and state meetings / conferences 2. Must be willing to devote one hour each week for completing necessary duties as needed. 3. 5 Chloe Bell, Secretary 1. Write and keep minutes of all executive council and regular meetings in an official record book. Minutes should be typewritten and kept in a binder. Minutes should also be posted in each business classroom. Minutes should include the following: a. Kind of meeting (regular, special, executive board) b. Date of meeting, time, and place. c. Name of assembly. d. Name and title of officer presiding and presence of quorum. e. How minutes of the previous meeting are disposed of: approved or approved after being corrected. f. Record of reports. g. Record of each main motion with the name of the person who made it. h. Record of vote taken. i. Time of adjournment. j. Signature and title of secretary. 2. Keep an up-to-date roll of members in the parliamentarian s absence 3. Prepare an agenda for each meeting with the president. 4. Handles correspondence of the organization and keeps a proper file of copies of all outgoing and incoming correspondence. 5. Notifies members of meetings. 6. Read letters and/or other communications at Chapter meetings 7. Be responsible for the posting of items of common interest and benefit in each business classroom. 8. Have on hand for all meetings the minutes of prior meetings, list of committee reports, copies of the official handbooks of the organization. 9. 6 Kayla Maupin, Treasurer 1. Keep a record of all expenses and receipts of the organization in a journal. 2. Collect membership dues. 3. Cooperate with the secretary on keeping an accurate membership roll. 4. Pay all bills as authorized by the group. 5. Keep the official financial records of the organization and weekly verify their accuracy with the principal's office. 6. Prepare a written financial report of receipts and reimbursements for each meeting with the balance equaling that of the principal's office. 7. Chairman of the Finance Committee. 8. In charge of keeping financial records for each money- making project. 9. Must attend and participate in all workshops and conferences. 10. 7 Evan Hestley, Reporter-Historian 1. Gather news of the organization and prepare it for newspapers, magazines, etc. 2. See that news stories and photographs are delivered to the local and school newspapers. 3. Send news to the district, state, and national newspapers or magazines of the organization. 4. Arrange for special radio, newspaper, and TV coverage. 5. Provide the leadership for planning and setting up exhibits. 6. Compile the activities of the chapter into an Annual Report to be entered into competition at the state conference. 7. In order to accurately record the club's activities, the reporter should attend and participate in all workshops and conferences. 8. May assume the responsibility of taking pictures of the organization's activities. Collect all newspaper articles pertaining to the organization and its members. 9. In order to accurately record the organization's activities, the historian should attend and participate in all work- shops and conferences. 10.Assemble a scrapbook so that there is an accurate and thorough record of the organization's activities during the year. The fiscal year of the scrapbook is to begin with National Conference and to end with State Conference. 11.May assume the responsibility of taking pictures of the organization's activities. 12.Attend all FBLA Chapter, district, and state meetings / conferences 2 Able to write about and report the organization's activities accurately and thoroughly. 4.
