No. 17(26)/2012-PI)NGT GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY O}~ ENVIRONMENT & FORESTS NEW DELHI Sub,ject: Inviting applications for appointment to the post of Judicial and Expert Member in the National Green Tribunal The Government of India has enacted the National Green Tribunal (NGT) Act. 7.0 I 0 (19 of 2(10) for effective and expeditious disposal of cases relating to environmental protection and conservation of forests and other natural resources including enforcement of any legal right relating to environment and giving relief and compensation for damages to persons and property and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. As per Section 3 of the NGT Act, the Central Government has established the National Green Tribunal. It is proposed to fill up the posts of Judicial and Expert Members as per the provisions of the NGT Act, Applications arc invited from eligible Indian citizens for the following pests of Members, National Green Tribunal:- (i) Judicial Member 5* (ii) Expert Member 1** *subjeet to variation * * increase in vacancies anticipated 3. The recruitment of a Member shall be direct recruitment on term basis and will be purely on merit.

2 4. A Member, upon selection, may be posted in any ordinary place of sitting of Tribunal in India, which is normally at the Zonal level. 5. Mere eligibility will not entitle any candidate for being called for interview. The applications shall be screened and shortlisted and the shortlisted candidates shall alone be called to appear before the Selection Committee for interview. No reason for rejection shall be communicated. 6. The Central Government reserves the right to withdraw advertised post(s) at any time without assigning any reason. The Central Government also reserves the right to increase or decrease the vacancies as well as fill or not to fill any post(s) and its decision in this regard shall be final. 7. The cligibility and terms and conditions of the appointment of the candidates will be governed by the provisions of the NGT Act, 2010 (19 of 2010) and Rules, made thereunder including the NGT (Manner of Appointment of Judicial and Expert Members, Salaries, Allowances and other Terms and Conditions of Service of Chairperson and Other Members and Procedure for Inquiry) Rules, 2010 as amended from time to time. Thc NGT Act, 2010 and Rules made thereunder including their amendments thereof are available on the Ministry'S wcbsite: 8. Eligible and interested persons may submit their applications in the prescribed format (Annexure- I) alongwith all supporting documents (self attested) to Dr. R.K. Agrawal, Deputy Secretary, Room No. 1030(10th floor), Paryavaran Bhawan, CGO Complex, Lodi Road, New Delhi-I10003 on or before Those who are working in the Supremc Court / High Court/ Central/ State Government/ Autonomous Bodies/ PSUs/ Universities may send their application through proper channel along with photocopies of the ACRs/ AP ARs of the last five years, as applicable. While forwarding the application, it may be certified that no disciplinary proceedings or vigilance case is cither pending or contemplated against the applicant. The integrity of the applicant may also be certified by the Competent Authority. In such cases, the applicants can send their

3 advance copies at the above address. However, if their application is not received through proper channel before their date of interview, their candidature shall be rejected. 9. Applications which are incomplete or not in the prescribed format or not accompanied with the details as mentioned above shall not be entertained and would be liable to be summarily rejected by the Competent Authority. 10.
