2 THE ATTORNEY GENERAL 1 S ANNUAL REPORT ON ACCESS TO CERTAIN BUSINESS RECORDS FOR FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE PURPOSES UNDER THE FOREIGN INTELLIGENCE SURVEILLANCE ACT APRIL This report is submitted pursuant to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act of 1978 (the "Act"), 50 U.S.C , as amended, and covers all applications for access to certain business records (including the production of tangible things) for foreign intelligence purposes under the Act during the calendar year (U) The Government filed 155 applications with the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court (FISC) seeking authorization for access to certain business records (including the production of tangible things) for foreign intelligence purposes during this period. Of these 155 applications, 141 were combined pen register and/or trap and trace devices/business records applications. (b)(1) proposed orders in two applications submitted to the Court. Court did not deny, in whole or in part, any application submitted by the Government during calendar year (-S-) The Of the 155 applications submitted to the Court during calendar year 2G05, (b)(1)
