2 MANS CONGRESS PRESENTATION As Honorary President of World Federation of Neurosurgery (WFNS), I have the pleasure to announce the organization of the 2 nd Congress of the Mediterranean Association of Neurological Surgeons (MANS), to be held June 19-20, 2018 at the Hotel Royal Continental in Naples (Italy). The first congress was held in Algeria in 2016, under the Presidency of Prof. Mohamed Djennas, and after the big success of the first edition, we are enthusiast to propose the organization of the second congress in Italy. The MANS Congress is intended as a big opportunity to let Neurosurgeons coming from the main Mediterranean European, North African and Middle Eastern countries meet together. We are confident that the Congress will be attended by almost 250 participants coming from Southern Europe, North-Africa and Middle East. The scientific program is going to be defined according to the following main topics: Spine, Pediatrics, Vascular, Functional, Skull Base, Radiosurgery, Women in neurosurgery. We are trying to arrange a Simulation Course Session, open to all participants, to stimulate a more interactive participation. We are providing grants to encourage the attendance of young neurosurgeons. We are finalizing the list of invited speakers that we will send you as soon as possible. In the meantime, we are attaching a preliminary list of invited speakers. The Congress will be organized under the auspices of WFNS (World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies), CAANS, (Continental Association of African Neurosurgical Societies), SINch (Italian Society of Neurosurgery), EANS (European Association of Neurosurgical Societies), SeENS (South Eastern Europe Neurosurgical Society). Prof. Francesco Tomasello ICRAN CONGRESS PRESENTATION ICRAN (International Conference on Recent Advances on Neurotraumatology) will be held on June 20-22, 2018 in Naples (Italy). The congress venue is the Royal Continental Hotel. ICRAN is the congress of the Neurotraumatology Section of the WFNS chaired by prof. Franco Servadei who is Honorary President of ICRAN 2018 as well. The Congress will be chaired by myself as secretary of the Neurotrauma Section of the Italian Society of Neurosurgery and member of the Neurotraumatology Committee of the World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS) and by Prof. Paolo Cappabianca, Secretary of the Italian Society of Neurosurgery. A participation of approximately 350 (hopefully more) European, African, Middle Eastern, Asian and South and North American partners, with particular regard to emerging countries, is expected. The Congress will be organized under the auspices of WFNS (World Federation of Neurosurgery), SINCH (Italian Association of Neurosurgery), EANS (European Association of Neurosurgery) and AO Neuro. The ICRAN program is under construction, and will be available soon on the website also under construction. Main topics will be about traumatic brain injury, neurointensivist management of cranial trauma, pediatric trauma, hemostasis management and various sessions for spine trauma surgery. The latter are organized together with Italian and European AO Spine exponents, Prof. Ducati and Prof. Barbagallo respectively. This year my project within ICRAN is to complete a consensus conference on cranioplasty, bringing together various authors of cranioplasty to try to produce some expert recommendation to publish. There is a first session with oral communication organization about the various types of materials, therapeutic strategies, and then 10/15 experts for each 5 different meeting rooms (about 50 peoples) will discuss about the various aspects of controversy. The program will be enriched with some pre-event Courses (June 18 and 19, 2018) will be held with 4 cadaver labs at the Center of Biotechnology at Cardarelli Hospital: - Course for Decompression Craniectomy - Global Neuro Course - Course on the cervical spine with anterior and posterior approaches The internationality of the event allows us to organize a cad lab with different types of instruments from different companies, unless there is a major interest from a company to monopolize the course. Numerous seminar lunch will take place during the congress program. These can be sponsored by a company in order attract the attention of participants on a particular topic/project of their interest through a prestigious speaker/opinion leader. No congress lunch will be organized in overlap with the sponsored seminar lunch. Assignment of the space Space will be assigned on a first come first served basis. Anyway companies attending both ICRAN and MANS will choose their space first. If the space requested is not available, it is the practice of us to contact each company to discuss alternative space availabilities. We reserve the right to relocate or reassign booths at any time for the overall benefit of the congress. The Companies, which will decide to participate at this Session, will illustrate the features and applications of their flagship product. HOSPITALITY SUITE/INNOVATION ROOM: 4.000,00 The Sponsor will have the possibility to show a selected audience your new products and devices in a private room for the duration of the congress. The hospitality suite will be included on directional signage of the congress Invitation flyer in the congress bag EDUCATIONAL GRANTS: 800,00 per participant per event The Congress wants to help increase capacity in lower-income countries by supporting attendance and accommodation (2 nights) of their promising scientists and doctors who otherwise could not afford to travel. By contributing to the Educational Grants, you will help these delegates attend the Congress (MANS or ICRAN) and return with knowledge and contacts that will make a difference in their home countries. As a Contributor to the Educational Grant, you will: be verbally acknowledged at the Opening Ceremony and be acknowledged as a contributor with your logo in the onsite pocket program and signage.
