1 WESTMORELAND INTERMEDIATE UNIT BOARD OF DIRECTORS MINUTES FEBRUARY 23, 2016 CALL TO ORDER The regular meeting was called to order by President Irvin W. Tantlinger at 7:37 p.m. in the Board Room of the Westmoreland Intermediate Unit, 102 Equity Drive, Greensburg, Pennsylvania followed by the Pledge of Allegiance. EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR REPORT (EDR ) PRESENTATION - "CURRICULUM SERVICES DIVISION OVERVIEW" BY MR. TIM HAMMILL Tim Hammill made a brief presentation. An overview of the department and the services provided to districts was shared. Dr. Conway reported on the following: A. PDE Early Intervention Funding Work Group-Mrs. Willis & Mrs. Binakonsky B. PSBA-Act 93 Salary Study-Job Description Update C. All Hazards Plan D. SY General Operating Preliminary Budget E. Power Wednesdays Starts Wednesday, February 24 F. Act 39 Energy Savings Project WIU FOUNDATION REPORT Mr. Robert A. McDonald, Board Representative, was unable to attend the last meeting. Dr. Conway reported on upcoming events. Also, he shared that Beth Alwine announced she is stepping down as President of the WIU Foundation so we are looking for volunteers. The next meeting is scheduled for May 10, 2016 at 5:00 p.m. in the WIU Board Room. 2

Motion: Mr. Feldbusch Second: Mr. McDonald COMMENTS BY CITIZENS IN ATTENDANCE Terri Pajak, President- Classroom Assistants, welcomed Dr. Monroe into her new position and thanked Mr. Summerville for his support and years of service. Linda Hickman, Vice President- Classroom Assistants, announced that a number of students from the Life Skills class at Mount Pleasant Area Senior High will be performing at Westmoreland Mall in the center court on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. 5
