The guide will be updated annually to reflect any changes in the law of evidence. During my tenure, the Commission proposed, inter alia, legislation concerning: changes in the treatment of criminal defendants raising the insanity defense, a Code of Evidence, recodification of the Insurance Law, revision of child custody laws, certification of cases to the Court of Appeals, and recovery for wrongful conviction.
