5 ORDINANCE NO. An ordinance amending Sections 80.00(h) and of the Los Angeles Municipal Code to amend the definition of Parkway and prohibit the stopping, standing or parking of a vehicle in the Parkway. THE PEOPLE OF THE CITY OF LOS ANGELES DO ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: Section 1 Subsection (h) of Section of Chapter VIII of the Los Angeles Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: (h) Parkway shall mean the area of the public right-of-way not intended for vehicular use between the sidewalk and the curb (or where no curb exists between the sidewalk and the public street), which the City has reserved for landscaping and utilities. Sec. 2. Section of Chapter VIII of the Los Angeles Municipal Code is amended to read as follows: SEC STOPPING, STANDING OR PARKING IN PARKWAY PROHIBITED. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within the area of the Parkway as defined in Section 80.00(h) of this Code. 1 Wednesday - June 14, PAGE 5

6 Sec. 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the passage of this ordinance and have it published in accordance with Council policy, either in a daily newspaper circulated in the City of Los Angeles or by posting for ten days in three public places in the City of Los Angeles: one copy on the bulletin board located at the Main Street entrance to the Los Angeles City Hall; one copy on the bulletin board located at the Main Street entrance to the Los Angeles City Hail East; and one copy on the bulletin board located at the Temple Street entrance to the Los Angeles County Hall of Records.
