Confirmation of the minutes of the 11 th meeting of the Approval Committee held on KA:15:11 OFFICE OF THE DEVELOPMENT COMMISSIONER SYNEFRA SPECIAL ECONOMIC ZONE ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICE: CSEZ: KAKKANAD KOCHI Minutes of the 11 th Meeting (1/2014 series) of the Approval Committee of Synefra Special Economic Zone held on 4 th March, 2014 The 11 th Meeting (1/2014 series) of the Approval Committee of Synefra Special Economic Zone, Udupi, constituted under Section 13 of Special Economic Zones Act, 2005, was held on 4 th March, 2014 at a.m in the Conference Room of SEZ Bhavan, 120-C, EPIP, Whitefield, Bangalore. Dr Safeena A N, Development Commissioner chaired the meeting. 2. The following members were present: a) Shri Viswas B N, Dy DGFT, (As a nominee of Shri J.V Patil, DGFT, Bangalore)) b) Shri Thapan Kumar, Dy Commissioner, (As a nominee of Dr. M Subramaniyam Commissioner of Central Excise, Mangalore.) c) Shri Mohana Rao P, Nominee of Developer Leave of absence of Shri Madhup Vyas, (Deputy Secretary, (SEZ), Department of Commerce, New Delhi, Smt Lakshmi Hande Puri, Commissioner of Income Tax, Mangalore, Shri Sanjeev Kumar Jindal, Deputy Secretary (IF-1), Ministry of Finance, New Delhi, Shri Raghuram, Managing Director, Karnataka Udyog Mitra, Bangalore and Shri Maheshwar Rao, Commissioner for Industrial Development & Director of Industries and Commerce, Govt of Karnataka. was noted. At the outset the Chairperson welcomed the members of the Approval Committee. The following items in the agenda circulated in advance, were thereafter taken up for consideration: A) Confirmation of the minutes The minutes of the 10 th meeting (5/2013 series) of the Approval Committee held on 4 th December, 2013 was confirmed. B) Action Taken on the decisions of the previous meeting. Default list of services approved by Department of Commerce for ratification and Approval for additional list of services submitted by M/s Synefra Engineering and Construction Ltd and M/s Bremels Rubber Industries Private Limited. The Chairperson informed the Committee that M/s Synefra Engineering Construction Ltd, Developer of Synefra SEZ and M/s Bremels Rubber Industries Private Limited a unit in Synefra SEZ vide their letters dated 31 st January, 2014 and 8 th February, 2014 respectively have submitted a request for ratifying the default list of services approved by ministry of commerce and additional list of services for approval. Decision of the Committee: The Committee after deliberations approved the default list of services and the following services from the additional list of services submitted by the unit for carrying out the authorized operations subject to the submission of name and address of the vender. i) Insurance auxiliary services concerning general insurance business ii) Business Support Services iii) Management or Business Consultant Services iv) Business Auxiliary Services sd/- (Dr Safeena A N) Chairperson Approval Committee Synefra Special Economic Zone 5

6 B) Action Taken on the decisions of the previous meeting. The Chairman informed the Committee that following decisions of the last meeting had been communicated to the units: Sl No Approval Date of issue of letter 1 Default list of services approved by Department of Commerce for ratification and Approval for additional list of services submitted by a)m/s Synefra Engineering and Construction Ltd (Developer) and b) M/s Bremels Rubber Industries Private Limited.(Unit) Approved Additional Services viz: Insurance Auxiliary services concerning general insurance business Business support services Management or Business Consultant Services Business Auxiliary Services (Ratification issued) (Approval of additional item pending for want of more details) C. To consider the following: 1. Default list of services approved by the Department of Commerce for ratification a) Request of for Additional list of services viz.: (i) Management Consultants Services & Real Estate Agents Service by Richmond Realtors - Request submitted by the Developer vide letter dated 11 th and 26 th March, The developer vide letter dated 11 th March, 2015has submitted a request for approval of (i) Management Consultants Services & (ii) Real Estate Agents Services as their Authorized List of services followed by clarification/justification vide letter dated 26 th March, They clarified that they have appointed their Service Provider (Vendor), viz: Richmond Realtors, Bangalore/Uduppi for providing services in the area of laisoning for approval from various Government agencies, carrying out pre-feasibility & socio Economic studies and other laisoning works relating to their SEZ.
