CALL TO ORDER: Jim Grunst called the meeting to order at 10:00 a.m. 2. Election of Officers Election of new officers for the year 2012/2013 was held by closed ballot. The vote was unanimous for the following officers: James Grunst-President, First Vice President-Doris Harriman, Second Vice President- George Murray, Secretary- E. Richard Rosenblatt Steve Berry has one year left as Treasurer 4. SECRETARY'S REPORT: E. Richard Rosenblatt reported. Richard Rosenblatt reported that the Minutes of the May 8, 2012, monthly Board meeting, been taken by Walter Byron and were published by him via (with a copy mailed to Lucille). A motion was made, seconded and unanimously supported to accept the Minutes as published.

2 2. Treasurer s Report: Jim Grunst for Steve Berry Revenues (Dues) are doing well. Making our year end forecast will depend on how successful we are with life members and collecting the rest of our dues. With the favorable Spring Lunch subsidy, the forecast for 2012 is now for a slight profit. John Hall raised the question of increasing our dues and this will be tabled until next May. It appears that the population of PRA will start to fall next year. 6. MEMBERSHIP: Bob Ruckstuhl reported: Membership as of : 1658 Bob also provided a graphical representation of membership history for 2012 receipts and a forecast of and receipts for the remainder of the year.. 5. NEWSLETTER: Bill Rosen said that the next issue of the Newsletter will be released to the printer in late June and gave a deadline for articles to be sent to him of June 22nd. The fall deadline will be September 7th so the newsletter can be mailed well before the October luncheon. Seems to take up to two weeks to for members to receive the newsletter after leaving the printer. Suggestion of soliciting old Polaroid pictures to be printed in newsletter.

3 Richard Rosenblatt reported that he is working with Larry Chelmow, who volunteers at the Charles River Museum of Industry and Innovation, in writing an article about the Museum for the Newsletter. It was decided that since the Polaroid exhibit does not exist at this time and the newsletter is quite full, that the article will not be used for this edition. Eric Thorgerson will contact the director of the museum to get a more definitive time line for the exhibit. 6. 4 7. SPRING LUNCHEON Review Jim Grunst asked for feedback on the May luncheon. Fewer prizes seem to utilize time more efficiently. If we want to spend more money on prizes, we could increase the value of the prizes and not the number of prizes. Speaker gave an excellent presentation and was well received. Possibly could have limited subjects and spent more time on fewer topics. One comment was to have benefits fair so other topics of interest to retirees could be presented. Traffic is still a problem on leaving Lantana's and it was suggested that alternate routes be included for the next luncheon to avoid the tie up at the light. 8. Future Luncheon Meetings Steve Herchen will present his work on Project Zinc invented at Polaroid and commercialized after leaving Polaroid. Since Konarka is no longer in business, Russ Gaudiana will be dropped as a future speaker. 9. COMMITTEE REPORTS: a) Condolences Committee: Lucille reported that since our last meeting there has been one death of a PRA member-dan Sugrue and a number of reported deaths of former Polaroid Members OLD BUSINESS: A. October Luncheon Menu It was decided to continue with the chicken picante and the fish and serve strawberry shortcake for dessert B. Revised operating procedures A motion was approved to change the notification date in the Operating Procedures from every two years to every three years for written notice for spouses of deceased PRA members to continue to be members of PRA. C. Movie of speakers at luncheons John Hall has had discussions with a company that could offer a movie service for our luncheon meetings. He is waiting for a quote. There was also discussion by on a way of taking old Polavision films and transferring them to a CD. The Polavision projector had a deliner for removing the red lines and without this technology there could be a film quality problem. The inventor of the deliner was Kestutis Norvaisa who might be a resource in answering this question..

5 9. NEW Business A. BOB meeting Dates for 2013 We decided to meet on the second Tuesday of March, April, May, June, September, October, November and December. Holiday luncheon will follow the board meeting on Tuesday December 10th. B. Luncheon Dates for 2013 Wednesday May 22 and Wednesday October 16 C. Survey results-edyie Johnson 112 responses were received at the luncheon for future speaker suggestions. There were many excellent ideas and Eric Thorgerson volunteered to prioritize the ideas for planning purposes to be used for future meetings. 10. FUTURE MEETINGS: a) Dates for Board Meetings in 2012 (a repeat from last month): Tuesday September 11 Tuesday October 9 Tuesday November 13 Tuesday December 4 b) Luncheon Dates: Wednesday May 16 Wednesday October 17 c) Our Next Monthly Board Meeting: Our next monthly Board Meeting will be on Tuesday, September 11, at the Norwood Chateau. open at 9:30 and the meeting will be called to order at 10:00.
