By Stacie Jesser, CCRW President We are winding up our annual Clark County Republican Women (CCRW) membership drive contest. If you have not yet renewed your 2018 membership, February is the last month that you can enter to win a fabulous $75 spa gift certificate. We were deeply honored to host Washington Federation of Republican Women (WFRW) President Dee Drewry as our keynote speaker at our January 19th dinner meeting. President Dee installed our new 2018 CCRW officers which included myself as President, Liz Pike as 2nd Vice President and Marjie Austen as Treasurer. We appreciate President Dee travelling all the way from Wenatchie to install our new officers and provide us with an inspirational message to carry us forward. I m pleased to celebrate our organization s 30th Anniversary with all of you. As we closed the books on 2017, CCRW was deemed the largest Republican Womens group in the state of Washington. I m so proud of the teamwork within our organization. As we celebrate the last 30 years, I d like to thank all of the past CCRW officers who served in leadership positions.we would not be here today without their commitment and service. We have lots to celebrate in 2018 related to our CCRW 30th anniversary. To commemorate this important milestone, we will be giving away lots of 30-themed raffle prizes at upcoming dinner meetings. Be sure to check out our entire meeting schedule on page five of this issue. Add our 2018 meeting dates to your calendar so you don t miss a thing. WFRW Day at the Capitol is on February 7th, See details on page 4. Our second meeting of the year is on Friday, March 16th. Dr. Dino Ramzi will deliver our keynote address on the state of health care in America. Please RSVP for our CCRW dinner meeting. Advance registration is required. The event begins at 6p.m. and will be held at Club Green Meadows, 7703 NE 72nd Avenue, Vancouver, WA All inclusive dinner is $24 for CCRW members and $30 for guests and non-members. For additional registration information, please contact CCRW Secretary Anna Miller at (360) Dr. Dino William Ramzi, MD, MPH Dr. Ramzi received his medical education at McGill University specializing in family medicine as well Master s in Public Health from Emory University in Atlanta. His academic interest has been at the intersection of health policy, management and health outcomes. He has taught at residency programs, been a Medical Director at a Community Clinic Inc. in Rockville, MD and Chief Medical Officer of an Federally Qualified Heath Center in Pasco, WA. He was instrumental in opening Providence s first Clark County clinic. He has served as President of the Clark County Medical Society and is active in the Washington State Medical Association and Washington Academy of Family Physicians, lobbying and speaking on topics related to primary care s vital role in the health of our communities and how to reform the health system using sound policy principles. In 2016 he opened Patient Direct Care, a Direct Patient Care practice in Battle Ground, Washington and recorded the fastest direct primary care start-up in history. Dr. Ramzi and his wife live in Washougal and are very active in all aspects of their community s life and growth. CCRW is a fast growing Republican Women s organization and is currently one of the largest in the State of Washington. The website is ClarkCountyRepublicanWomen.org.

Wa s h i n g t o n Federation of Republican Women is organizing their annual day on the hill. All the details plus a special invitation from our 18th District State Representative and CCRW 2nd Vice President Liz Pike can be found on page 4 of this issue. We hope to see you in Olympia. WFRW President Drewry Installs 2018 CCRW Officers On January 19th,Washington Federation of Republican Women (WFRW) President Dee Drewry installed the following Clark County Republican Women (CCRW) officers to serve two year terms: President Stacie Jesser, Second Vice President Liz Pike and Treasurer Marjie Austen. Stacie, Liz and Marjie are joined on the Executive Board by CCRW First Vice President Brook Pell and Secretary Anna Miller who are mid-way through their respective two-year terms of office which began in Silent Auction Donations Sought For 2018 Meetings CCRW invites members and guests to donate silent auction items for our dinner meetings. Raising money helps us fufill our mission! These donations help our club raise money so that we can provide quality education programs to inform voters and train potential new candidates and their teams. If you wish to donate, simply bring an item of value to an upcoming dinner meeting. CCRW 2nd VP Liz Pike coordinates our silent auction items at each meeting.
4 FEBRUARY, 2018 PAGE 4 Register now for WFRW Day at the Capitol Date: Wednesday, February 7, 2018 Time: 11:00 am to 2:00 pm Location: Columbia Room, Legislative Building, Olympia WFRW is directing all requests, all reservations, registrations, lunch orders, and payment be made on-line, utilizing the PayPal system. There will be no admissions at the door, no payment by cash or check, and no orders by phone or mail. If club members or guests do not have access to the internet, WFRW asks that CCRW assist them by registering them online as our guests and then letting them reimburse CCRW personally. WFRW goal is to have the on-line registration and payment application operate as smoothly and easily as possible. All fees must be pre-paid by 6:00 pm on Thursday, February 1, Please note that once the order has been placed with the caterer by WFRW, there can be no refunds or changes. Cost: $6 per person without lunch (covers cost of the permit, room, chairs, tables, microphone, lunches for Republican Legislators, etc.) -- OR $21 per person with lunch To register, go to: Photos will be taken at 2 pm on the steps of the Rotunda and we encourage everyone to wear red! Red jackets, red suits. Please wear indelible red for the Evergreen State! Parking during the Legislative Session is always a challenge. Metered parking ($.50 per hour) with free Dash shuttle service to the Capitol Building is available at the Farmers Market at the north end of Capitol Way. Our Executive Board is committed to growing our membership so that we will continue to be relevant in Clark County politics. Per our bylaws, all new membership renewals occur on January 1st of each year. All of our members who signed up during the months of October, November and December, 2017, were entered into our drawing to win a $100 spa gift certificate.
