None XII. Board President s Agenda A Guatemala Spring Trip for Spanish Club Mrs. Lyga updated the board on plans for the 2017 spring trip to Guatemala. B. Approve revisions to Board Policies 5113 (Open Enrollment Program-Inter District) and (Course Options) Motion by Shelly Piske, second by Paul Wuensch to approve revisions to Board Policies (Open Enrollment Program-Inter District) and (Course Options) setting limits at a later date. Motion C. Announce candidates for February primary school board election On the ballot for the spring primary February 16 th for the at-large position: Paul Amborn, Michelle Glandt, Charles Horman, John McCue, Doug Servais, Joanie Wilcox, and Paul Wuensch. D Referendum information Dave Laehn presented the referendum brochure for discussion. A few changes were made with recommendations from the Board. Dates for public meetings were also

3 discussed. E. School Board Convention Report Dave Laehn, Joanie Wilcox, and Paul Wuensch gave a report on the School Board Convention they attended in Milwaukee January 20-22, F. March Board retreat topics School Board retreat will be held on Saturday, March 12 th, 2016 at CESA #4 9 a.m.- noon. G. Music Backer s trailer donation Motion by Joanie Wilcox, second by Dave Vetrano, to accept trailer donation valued at $2100, to the Bangor School District, from the Music Backers, to be used primarily by the music department. Motion H. Correspondence No correspondence. XIII. CESA #4 Report: Julie Meyers, CESA Board Representative Julie Meyers gave report. XIV. Administration Reports 1. School Psychologist Report: Josh Chaplin A. 1 st Friday in January Special Education Count Bangor School District is currently serving 77 students with some type of special education services. B. Child Development Day This year s event will be held in the Elementary Gym on Friday February 12 th from 8:00a.m. to 11:30a.m. and from 12:30p.m. to 2:00p.m. C. Wisconsin Federal Funding Conference Jac Lyga and Josh Chaplin will be attending the WASBO, WCASS, and WI DPI Federal Funding Conference on February at the Kalahari in Wisconsin Dells. D. Forward Exam & ACT Conference Josh Chaplin will be attending the Wisconsin Forward Exam training in Eau Claire and the ACT Conference at the Marriot West in Middleton. E. Badger 3-8 Exam and ACT Reports Josh Chaplin presented all of the state testing results from the school year that were publically released last week. F. State Assessments A variety of state assessments are coming up from March-May. All students in 11 th grade throughout the state will be taking the FULL ACT on March 1 st and the ACT Work Keys on March 2 nd. The 9 th and 10 th graders will be taking the ACT Aspire sometime between April 25 th - May 27 th. The 3 rd - 8 th graders will take the Wisconsin Forward Exam for ELA and Math March 28 th - May 20 th. Students in 4 th and 8 th grade

4 will also be taking an additional portion of the Wisconsin Forward Exam for Science and students in 4 th. 8 th, and 10 th, will be taking an additional exam for social studies. Students in 4K 2nd will be taking the spring Phonological Awareness Literacy Screener (PALS) between April 25 th May 20 th. G. Bangor Athletic Hall of Fame The Bangor Athletic Hall of Fame Committee Class of 2015: Individual Athlete Category: Lee Bunny Schroeder; Courtney Pember; and Nick Ikert Contributor Category: Colleen Kaiser These individuals will be acknowledged at the home basketball game on January 29, 2016 and will be honored at the Booster Club Fun Night January 30, H. Booster Club The Booster Club Fun Night/Alumni Social/Athletic Hall of Fame Ceremony is Saturday, January 30, Tickets are on sale from Booster Club members and will be on sale during home events. 2. Elementary School Report: Jac Lyga A. January Word of the Month Kindness Elementary school had a great assembly at the beginning of the month and all will continue to encourage kindness all month long. B. Rolls for Role Models On January 13 th the Make a Difference Group had a Rolls for Role Model breakfast. Over 54 adults joined 84 children for a special breakfast at school. C. D.A.R.E. Graduation The fifth graders celebrated their D.A.R.E. graduation on Friday, January 22 nd. During the ceremony, students pledged to live drug free lives. D. PTO Get Moving Night PTO sponsored Get Moving Night on Friday, January 22 nd. About 30 families attended, rotating through ten different stations of physical activities. E. Upcoming events Mrs. Lyga announced the upcoming events. 3. High School/Middle School: Don Addington A. Resignation of assistant softball coach (Board may convene into closed session under WI State Statute (1) Motion by Joanie Wilcox, second by Paul Wuensch, to approve resignation of assistant softball coach, Cheri Horstman. Motion B. Approval of WIAA coop agreement with West Salem for wrestling and gymnastics No action taken at this time. C. Approval of WIAA co-op agreement with West Salem for hockey Motion by Paul Wuensch, second by Shelly Piske, to approve WIAA co-

Approval of the Spanish trip to Guatemala in the Spring of 2017 Motion by Shelly Piske, second by Lori Horstman, to approve Spanish trip for the Spring of Motion E. Family medical leave request for middle/high school teacher (Board may convene into closed session under WI State Statute (1) Motion by Joanie Wilcox, second by Dave Vetrano, to approve family medical/maternity leave for Emily Schmitz, during the 4 th qtr. through the end of the school year and return to work for the school year, using available sick days throughout her absence. Motion carried 5-0. Julie Meyers abstaining. F. Upcoming Events/Plan Ahead Dates Don Addington presented upcoming events and plan ahead dates. 4. District Administrator Report: Dave Laehn A. Open enrollment alternative applications Motion by Shelly Piske, second by Dave Vetrano, to approve one open enrollment alternative application into our district and one going out of our district. Motion B. Second Friday in January student count Second Friday in January student count 603 students (Same as 3 rd Friday count in September 2015) C. Approve open enrollment space availability Motion by Dave Vetrano, second by Joanie Wilcox, to approve open enrollment space availability (required by DPI) as presented. Motion D. Approve school calendar Motion by Paul Wuensch, second by Dave Vetrano, to approve school calendar as presented, polling parents to decide on 2018 graduation date. Motion carried 4-2. Lori Horstman, Shelly Piske voting no. E. Professional Learning Communities-first semester work Dave Laehn updated the Board on the work that the PLC s did on formative assessment for the first semester. F. Celebrations Celebrations shared by Board members and administrative team members. XV. Removal of Items from the Consent Agenda N/A XVI. Consent Agenda N/A

6 XVII. Public Comments No comments. XVIII. Miscellaneous as May Legally Come Before the Board No miscellaneous. XIX. Adjourn to Closed Session Under WI Statutes (1)(c) The Board will convene into closed session for the purpose of discussing employment or performance evaluation data of any public employee (middle/high school teacher) under the provisions of Wisconsin Statutes Sec (1)(c), maternity leave request for middle/high school teacher, personnel, student discipline issue, early graduation request and staffing. The Board will reconvene into open dialog session immediately following closed session, and following the open session, may reconvene again into closed session if needed. Motion by Paul Wuensch, second by Dave Laehn, to adjourn to closed session. Roll call vote taken. Motion XX. Return to Open Session to Take Action, If Necessary Motion by Paul Wuensch, second by Shelly Piske, to return to open session.
