7 Resolution Example A Resolution to Reinstate Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals WHEREAS, President Trump will revoke the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals or DACA Program in 6 months; and WHEREAS, This program impacts the lives of over 800,000 dreamers; and WHEREAS, The end of DACA will cost the US over 400 billion dollars in lost GDP and Texas 6.1 billion dollars in lost revenue; and WHEREAS, This action will undermine the lives and opportunities of many young and talented people in the US; now, therefore, be it RESOLVED, That the UIL Congress here assembled demands that President Trump stop plans to end the DACA program; and, be it FURTHER RESOLVED, That this UIL Congress encourage the US Congress to create legislation to permanently create a pathway to US citizenship for Dreamers. 10 1 2 A Bill to Discontinue and Replace All Nickels and Pennies BE IT ENACTED BY THIS UIL CONGRESS HERE ASSEMBLED THAT: 3 4 SECTION 1. All nickels and pennies currently being manufactured by mint facilities are to be discontinued. 5 6 SECTION 2. Pennies and nickels still in existence may be used as valid currency. At the time of passage copper-based (CB) nickel and penny manufacturing will Sample Bill be replaced by production of a cheaper model made of aluminized steel alloy (ASA). SECTION 3. This bill will be enforced by the Department of Treasury. The funding currently being allocated to CB nickels and pennies will be redirected to fund the production of ASA coins. SECTION 4.
