11 CITY OF BAKER CITY Meeting Date: July 26, 2016 Agenda Item: Agenda Title: Appoint Volunteers: City Council Type of Action Requested: Resolution No. Ordinance No. X_ Formal Action/Motion Other Action Statement Due to the resignation of Sandy Lewis one position on the City Council remains vacant. An appointment by a majority vote will be needed to appoint an applicant. Background During the July 12, 2016 meeting, City Council discussed filling the City Council vacancy that took effect July 13 th. City Council decided to defer the appointment until the July 28 th meeting. Staff was directed to reopen the position and did not receive any more applications. Since the meeting on July 12 th, Chris Parker withdrew her application for City Council. Loran Joseph successfully completed a City Council application and is eligible for City Council. Alternatives 1. Appoint Loran Joseph to serve on the City Council until the term expires in December of Do not appoint Loran Joseph to the City Council. 16 CITY OF BAKER CITY Meeting Date: Agenda Item: Agenda Title: July Public Arts Master Plan Type of Action Requested: Resolution No. Ordinance No. Formal Action/Motion _ Action Statement City Council can adopt the 2016 Public Arts Master Plan. Background Ordinance 3332, passed March 11, 2014 which created a Public Arts Commission. In addition to the commission's duties, the members decided to develop a master plan. The Public Arts Commission worked on this plan for several months and is ready to present the master plan to the Council for consideration. Members from the Public Arts Commission presented this plan at the July 12, 2016 City Council meeting and since that time no comments have been received. Alternatives 1. The Council can adopt the Public Arts Master Plan. 2. The Council can choose to make additional edits at this time and request revisions to the Plan. The Plan can also be reviewed on a regular basis and updates/revisions made as needed. Recommendation N/A Is this recommendation supported by an advisory committee?
