1 EDA CURRENT 2015 Levels Regular Includes individuals that support the objectives of the organization and are employed in economic development in Alberta as a private practitioner, corporate business representative or a municipal, provincial or federal government employee. Regular members have full rights to vote in the affairs EDA and otherwise enjoy the benefits of membership as from time to time defined by resolution of the Board of Directors. Associate/ Corporate Elected Official Student /Alumni Conference Corporate Includes individuals of a corporation or business who do not necessarily belong to an Alberta economic development organization, but support the objectives of EDA and may supply goods or services to EDO's. Associate members do not have the power to vote or hold office, receive awards or scholarships, or host major EDA events. Open to elected officials that support the objectives of the Association. Elected Officials do not have the right to vote or hold office, receive awards or scholarships or host major EDA events; however, they are eligible for specific member discounts on EDA events. Open to students, with a valid student card, or past members of this association retired, in transition, or no longer employed in economic development, that wish to remain in contact with the profession and its members. Student/Alumni members do not have the right to vote or to hold office receive awards or scholarships and host major EDA ALBERTA events. This is a conference benefit for Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Platinum partners. Conference Corporate memberships are given to one individual in the organization. They do not have the power to vote or hold office, receive awards or scholarships, or host major EDA events. Honorary Life Shall be any person that, by resolution of the Association s Board of Directors, is deemed to have given distinguished service or support to the Association. An Honorary Life member shall enjoy such entitlements to benefits and votes as from time to time defined by resolution of the Board of Directors. Reciprocal These are provided to the CEO/ED of our sister economic development organizations. EDA is also provided with a reciprocal membership in each of the organizations. They do not have the power to vote or hold office, receive awards or scholarships, or host major EDA events.

2 EDA RECOMMENDED 2016 Levels Below are the proposed recommended bylaw changes: 2.01 Classes: There shall be two classes of membership in the Association: Voting and Non-Voting. The board shall have the authority to establish and revise non-voting categories of membership as required Categories: Voting Members: - Active Professional () - Active Professional- Basic (Group) - Active Professional- Enhanced (Group) - Honorary Life () Non-Voting Members: - General Professional () - For Profit- Basic (Group) - For Profit- Enhanced (Group) - Not For Profit- Basic (Group) - Not For Profit- Enhanced (Group) - Reciprocal Active Professional Shall be an individual that supports the objectives of EDA, and is employed in economic development in Alberta as a municipal, provincial or federal government employee; or as a private practitioner. This includes: Elected Officials Economic Development Committee or advisory board members Students Economic Development Alumni Unemployed economic development professionals/those seeking re-employment in the field Private sector individuals $175 + GST

4 General Professionals do not have the power to vote or hold office or receive awards or scholarships. s are non-transferable. Honorary Life An Honorary Life member shall be any person that, by resolution of the Board, is deemed to have given distinguished service or support to the Association. An Honorary Life member shall enjoy such entitlements to benefits and rights to vote as from time to time defined by resolution of the Board. This membership category provides for a waiver of dues for the lifetime of the Honorary Life Member. All EDA Immediate Past Presidents are provided with an Honorary Life membership upon completion of their term. It is to recognize their commitment to the organization. s are non-transferable. None. These cannot be purchased. For Past Presidents, they are provided upon completion of a full term of office. They do not expire.

5 Group (up to 5 members) Active Professional- Basic Covers up to 5 individuals in the same organization that are employed in economic development in Alberta as a municipal, provincial or federal government employee or an economic development organization.
