1 MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF EDUCATION OF ALLENDALE SCHOOL DISTRICT #17 - WABASH COUNTY, ILLINOIS The of Allendale School District #17, Wabash County, Illinois, met in regular session on Wednesday, May 16, The meeting was held at the Allendale School, 101 N. Third Street, Allendale, IL. President Gary Buchanan called the meeting to order at 6:08 PM. The following members were present: Beth Etzkorn Also present was Supt. Bob Bowser and Administrative Asst. Sarah Courter. entered at 6:04 PM. Ed Kerkhover entered at 6:14 PM. APPROVE CONSENT AGENDA made the motion to approve the Consent Agenda as follows: Minutes of the Regular Meeting held Wednesday, April 18, 2018; Minutes of the Closed Meeting held Wednesday, April 18, 2018; Financial Reports Treasurer s Report, Activity Fund, Imprest Fund; Gross Payrolls, and Bills exclusive of Payroll. Upon said motion being seconded by, Acting-President Beth Etzkorn put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted: COMMUNICATIONS CITIZEN - None STAFF None ADMINISTRATION Superintendent Bob Bowser gave updates on the following: Financial Update - 1% Sales Tax payment is around $ , 3-fund expenditures total is $109,485 for April, ERATE and REAP money will go toward running new cabling throughout entire school building (CAT6); Sports Update: Track girls went to State (Lexi Fisher, Kinze Cusick, Emma Baxley, and Taylor Woods did relay and placed 15th; Emma Baxley did high jump and tied the school record of 4 2 at State), Sports Banquet will be May 2 at 6 PM; Transportation Update; Facility Update; Other: Institute Day - Board will provide lunch for faculty/staff, K-4 field trip will be to Walther s Golf in Evansville, Jr High field trip is to Holiday World, Accelerated Reading Dunking Booth will be Friday-for every 50 points earned = 3 balls to throw to dunk teacher of choice. BOARD MEMBERS None REGIONAL SUPERINTENDENT - None STATE SUPERINTENDENT - None OLD BUSINESS - HEALTH/LIFE/SAFETY PROJECT UPDATE - No action needed at this time. Potential timeline for upcoming projects per Ed Kerkhover: Gym floor - start last week of May for mobilization/1st week of June start refinishing; Bleachers - last week of July bleachers transported to school/first week of August bleachers installed; Exterior Doors - out for bids for Summer or September - will make decision on when to do when bids are in; Lighting replacement - will not be able to have gum lights in gym before gym is refinished, but gym and cafeteria can be done by start of school year.

2 NEW BUSINESS - APPROVE TENTATIVE AMENDED BUDGET moved to approve the Tentative Amended Budget. Upon said motion being seconded by, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted: SET DATE AND TIME FOR BUDGET HEARING moved to set the Budget Hearing on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at 6:10 p.m. for the Tentative Amended Budget. Upon said motion being seconded by, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted: APPROVE AMENDED SCHOOL CALENDAR moved to amend the School Calendar to reflect the emergency days we took on the following days: January 12, 2018; January 16, 2018; January 17, 2018; February 7, The Teacher Institute Day originally scheduled for May 17, 2018 is moved to May 23, 2018 to reflect the use of the four emergency days. The final day of school is moved to May 24, Upon said motion being seconded by, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted: APPROVE TO ACCEPT BLEACHER ALTERNATE BID DEDUCTION moved to approve accepting the alternate bid deduction for removing the gym bleachers from Carroll Seating. Upon said motion being seconded by, the President put the question and the roll being called, the following members voted:

3 APPROVE REQUEST FOR USE OF SCHOOL GROUNDS moved to approve the use of the property in the front of the building to the Ruritan s and Ruritanettes for the community block party on June 2, 2018, with the Ruritan Club providing a Certificate of Insurance. Upon said motion being seconded by, the voice vote was taken and the motion carried. GO TO CLOSED SESSION moved to adjourn to Closed Session at 7:36 P.M. for Reason #1 - Appointments, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. Upon said motion being seconded by, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted: EXIT CLOSED SESSION AND RETURN TO OPEN SESSION moved to reconvene from Closed Session at 7:57 P.M. Upon said motion being seconded by, the President put the question, and the roll being called, the following members voted: ADJOURN made the motion to adjourn the Wednesday, May 16, 2018, Allendale Community Consolidated School District #17 meeting at 7:58 P.M. Roll Call MEMBERS PRESENT AT CLOSED MEETING - The following members answered roll call at 7:36 P.M. ITEMS DISCUSSED: Reason #1 - Appointments, employment, compensation, discipline, performance or dismissal of specific employees. RETURN TO OPEN SESSION moved to reconvene from the Closed Session at 7:57 P.M. and go back to Open Session.
