1 By: Driven Doritos Senate Bill # 7020 TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT Motorcycle helmet requirements to prevent injuries. PURPOSE: Decrease amount of head trauma in motorists. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF INDIANA: Section 1. Motorist refers to any driver/occupant within a vehicle that has a motorcycle license plate/registration. Section 2. This declares that it is unlawful for motorists not to wear helmets while operating a vehicle registered as a motorcycle. Section 3. First and second offense is a charge of $35. Third offense is a charge of $70. Section 4. All laws or parts of laws in conflict with this act are hereby repealed. Section 5. This act shall become effective 30 days after approval by the Governor or upon its otherwise becoming a law. 4 By: Andrew Clark House Bill: #1200 TO BE ENTITLED AN ACT To insert an integrated circuit microchip into every state-issued identification card PURPOSE: To reduce the amount and ease of fake identification cards created and used In Indiana and to make traffic stops more secure, efficient, and easier for law enforcement officers. BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF INDIANA: Section 1: For the purpose of this bill, IC chip shall mean any integrated circuit mounted to a microchip. Section 2: Every state-issued identification card shall be equipped with an IC chip within 6 years from the date this act becomes effective that will contain the basic information, picture, and driving and criminal records of the cardholder. Section 3: Every law enforcement vehicle shall be equipped with an IC chip reader to be used to scan state-issued identification cards. Section 4: If violated by any citizen or officer, the individual is subject to a fine not to exceed two thousand dollars ($2,000) per violation. Section 5: All laws or parts of laws in conflict with this act are hereby repealed. Section 6: This act shall become effective 9 months after approval by the Governor or upon its otherwise becoming a law.
