Call to order by Mayor Patteri at 7:00 p.m. in the Bruce Mines Council chambers. 2. Declarations of Pecuniary Interest - none noted 3. Delegations: A) none 4. Minutes: A) December 7/15 MOTION NUMBER: OF BRUCE MINES APPROVES THE DECEMBER 7, 2015 REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES, AS PRESENTED. B) Cmmnittee of Adjustment: 5. Old Business: A) Royal Canadian Legion - Councillor Bowes stated that he will declare a conflict at the next meeting as he is a member discussion: For: do good work in the Bruce Mines and surrounding areas i.e. grants, donations, etc. Against: already are at residential assessment vs commercial under the Assessment Act have been getting hall free in the past discussion: municipal taxes $ (education would still have to be paid) defer until next meeting and request a delegation to be present with one speaker Page -1-

Reports: a) PWO I) b) CBO I) c) Clerk I) MTO request for drawings - no update read report: trees down in windstorm - streetlights repaired but three more not working: tree branch to be taken down at the same time - present road assistant no longer interested: will check with summer back up - tree hit the storage shop roof, so will repair in the spring - needs a back up in March under budget so purchased wiring for shop this year - angels down - entrance "archway" will be taken down in the spring request for by-law enforcement: Johnson Twp responded with request with amount to time/money paid to present by-law enforcement officer out of Sault Ste. Marie - Johnson Township advised that a response is forthcoming Report attached - explained tax sales at end of tax sales will be sent to legal for processing 7. Committee Reports: i) Admin/ student/hall: a) MPAC - Municipal Connect 2 - Ontario Geospatial Data Exchange ii) Fire Dept.: a) New Year's: hall rental iii) Health Centre/Huron North West: a) Financial Statement of Dec. 7/15 MOTION NUMBER: MOVED BY: HOWIE BOWES OF BRUCE MINES APPROVES THE HEALTH CENTRE FINANCIAL STATEMENT & "FOR APPROVALS" DATED DECEMBER 7, 2015, AS PRESENTED. b) Dr. Haapala - 5 year presentation iv) Library: a) new CEO in place - working on backlog v) Marina/Trailer Park/Shaft: a) meeting scheduled this week Chamber of Commerce: new brochure being created with map vi) Planning: a) vii) Recreation: a) Strategic Planning session end of January/beginning February suggested e-m ails from PA: mold issue - not in Ministry of Labour report request for levy - council in agreement that the treasurer pay monthly Page -2-
3 response to town resolution to terminate agreement and joint meeting date: discussion that we received no response after PA stated at the joint meeting they would do a business plan and PA had a December meeting after the joint meeting and no resolution or letter as a follow up was received fitness centre: PA clerk advised the arena manager to not open it due to BM resolution - more heat, cleaning, etc., so BM not in favour HR meeting next Monday morning - discussion on manager's position: building would still need to be checked joint meeting date: suggest Tues. Jan. 26 or Wed. Jan. 27 b) Town of Thessalon: Healthy Kids Community Challenge - discussion: 13 communities to be administered but Thessalon no longer able to be responsible - advise that town not able to administer but would support the agreement if other communities agree and $5, would be maximum request viii) Tri-Neighbours: a) b) Minutes of Nov. 18/15 AMO - Waste Free Ontario Act ix) Water/Wastewater/OCWA: a) b) SGS Lakefield - Certificate of Analysis MOE - Changes to Ontario Drinking Water Quality Standards - 0. Council comments: Councillor O'Hara: - Dec. 23: marina streetlights on, so repaired Dec. 24 windstorm: marina issue with docks, so arranged to have repairs, Health Centre issue, so attended building and office issue with alarm, so attended to reset Dec. 28 office alarm checked Councillor Chisholm: no comment Councillor Bowes: met with French class at hall - composed French letter to read to students - hall was set up like a French bistro - passed out town pins - appreciation expressed by teacher and students Mayor Patteri: no comment 9.
