17 The Importance of Staffers Staffers function as the legislators key information sources. They are exactly the right people to establish relationships with. 28 Written Communication s preferable to snail mail Content matters quality vs quantity One hundred form letters [ s] have LESS direct value than a single thoughtful letter generated by a constituent of the Member s district. Form letters and click here to contact your Representative/Senator s MUST be personalized to your experience and what is relevant to the District What we care about is that a constituent not only took the time to write a communication to us, but that he/she understands the fundamentals of the issue at hand and makes a rational, well-conceived argument for the position. Stick to one issue - short, sweet, to the point End with a specific ASK sponsor, vote for, support x bill Always include your home address where you vote!!
