Government should be responsible for making decisions in a way that is considered and thoughtful, that incorporates data and looks to the longer-term and better approach rather than putting a bandaid on something. It is not just a question of the issues that matter, but how those issues are handled and whether they are considered in such a thoughtful way and with the longer-term in mind. One example is the issue of infrastructure - roads, bridges, airports, - our economy and society can't function without having such capital projects being managed properly. Every time I go to Europe, I am impressed with the state of their infrastructure. Every time I return home I am mortified by the state of our roads and bridges and I am well aware of the longer-term impact on our economy and society of such poor management of such important and fundamental issues. 6 Every rose has it thorn...as is the case with this election. No matter who is chosen in the world of politics no one is squeaky clean and without flaws. Mistakes are made individually and collectively and as much as we'd like to believe we are judged by the good we do, we are judge even more harshly by our mistakes...no matter great or small. We live in a society driven by social media, propaganda, greed, entitlement, bias, racism, violence and certainly narcissistic behavior so no matter who is elected the struggle for those without a voice, those who believe differently, those without means, those limited by education, and the list goes...for them the struggle will always be great! I would add environmental issues, LGBTQ rights without persecution, terrorism, jobs, and immigration reform. Health care must be continued. If we could assure justice, we would have peace and could virtually eliminate poverty. Handling these issues is more than one person is expected to do. However, I trust Mrs. Clinton far more than the other candidate(s) to manage them fairly and delegate appropriate individuals to head each one. The items that I listed are very serious issues that I think the larger population shares in my concerns and I hope that our candidates will address ALL items before November and give us the voters some clarity on their positions/plans.
