1 Welcome to Freja Forum th 12th November 2017, in Tuzla Bosnia-Herzegovina 11 th Freja Forum is back to Tuzla, B&H - 10 years after Freja Forum is a forum for capacity building to strengthen social structures through the development of non-profit organizations in Western Balkan, Turkey and Sweden. Freja Forum NOMINATED to The Nobel Peace Prize 2017
2 Freja Forum 2017 in Tuzla will discuss equal opportunities, democracy and climate change in Tuzla during three days. The discussions will focus on changes that may take place in ecosystems, habitats, leadership and attitudes etc. due to pressures of various origin. The forum will explore practical methods on how to develop the work of civil society organizations and how to support them in becoming active contributor in our current society. Freja Forum will offer a large number of seminars, workshops and informal meetings. DRAFT PROGRAM Friday, November 10 th, 2017 Atelier Ismet Mujezinović, Tuzla Welcome and opening session Mr. Selim Bešlagić, former Tuzla Mayor and Tuzla Canton Governor Mr. Johan Pelling, head of Union of Tenants Sweden Representatives from Freja Academy Western Balkan Saturday, November 11th, 2017 Hotel Mellain, Tuzla Registration Opening Welcome to the Forum Representative of Tuzla town Ms. Margareta Eklund, president, Freja Academy, Mr. ph.d. Edin Osmanbegović, professor, Tuzla University/BH; Ms. Magdalena Spasovska, executive director of NGO TAKT/MK; Ms. Christina Bergman, Olof Palme International Center/SE and Ms. Gülin Jücel, Kagider and expert/tr Today we see a global decline for the human rights, democracy and gender equality. This is also noted in international forums, where international commitments about equality is still a vision rather than reality. A clear trend is that more and more countries are adopting laws that target restrict the space of civil society and its organisations in different ways Social media are becoming increasingly important as opinion makers. Are the effects that democracy is strengthened or the social flow contributes to a backlash?
