12 Face Up to Poverty Face Up to Poverty is Australia s biggest ever photo petition. 35,000 Australians have added their face to call for action on poverty. The Face Up to Poverty Petition received national press coverage and was displayed as a 10m x 10m wall in the centre of Sydney city.

23 Every day, more than 20, 000 children die from preventable causes And 820 million people go to bed each night without having enough to eat.

24 72 million children get up in the morning without the chance to go to school, missing out on learning to read and write......but this has fallen from 120 million 20 years ago.

25 In 2005, 345,000 children died from just one disease measles......but this is a 60% reduction from 1999

26 We have the means and resources to end extreme poverty. We need to communicate clearly, simply and deeply to everyday people so they can journey with us to make this happen.

30 Inspired by An Inconvenient Truth, The End of Poverty and The Bottom Billion, this presentation will be taken around the world to inspire people to act in new ways to end extreme poverty. The presentation will arm individuals with the tools, knowledge and inspiration to influence governments and take action.

32 It needs to be accessible and yet scientific.

33 It needs to tell the story of poverty, as well as the personal stories.

34 It needs to speak to the cynic, inspiring them at the same time.

36 In each country, the Global Poverty Project will: Reach 5,000,000+ through media and publicity, raising awareness of extreme poverty Educate 20,000+ through presentations, deepening and reframing their understanding of extreme poverty Engage 5,000+ to take direct action on extreme poverty through action groups and partners
