4 Why Did It Begin In Great Britain? The rest of Europe was trying to recover from the French Revolution and the Napoleonic Wars. Britain was the only country not devastated by financial looting and economic collapse Also Britain was the only one who had a functioning merchant fleet of any useful size

5 Other Reasons It Happened in Great Britain Britain was able to succeed due to the availability of key resources it possessed. The local supplies listed below resulted in excellent conditions for the development and expansion of industry. Coal Iron lead copper tin water power It had a dense population for its small geographical size.
