2 DEFEND CHAIRMAN GONZALO, GREAT MARXIST-LENINIST-MAOIST! Today December 3, 2017, the Communist Party of Perú declares what follows: I. WE REJECT THE WICKED ANTICOMMUNIST OFFENSIVE OF THE CORRUPT PRO-IMPERIALIST ULTRA-RIGHT, AND WE REAFFIRM THAT CHAIRMAN GONZALO, HEAD OF THE PARTY AND THE REVOLUTION, IS A GREAT MARXIST-LENINIST-MAOIST. Every day is demonstrated that repression does not stifle the revolution. By the same token, the more they attack trying to discredit Chairman Gonzalo, the more support he reaps from his imprisonment twenty-five years after his arrest. At the same time, imperialism, reactionaries and revisionists, in their latest anticommunist offensive, have been unveiled as sinister bearers of the two darkest chapters of our history: the Inquisition and fascism; being repudiated as never before by the communists, revolutionaries, the proletariat and the people, who watch how they struggle in the mire of their economic and political crisis. II. WE DEFENDED, DEFEND AND WILL FOREVER DEFEND CHAIRMAN GONZALO, WE WILL CONTINUE TO APPLY HIS MARXIST-LENINIST- MAOIST THOUGHT SINCE IT IS THE ORIENTATION OF THE EMANCIPATION OF THE CLASS AND THE PEOPLE, WITH SOCIALISM TOWARDS THE GOAL: COMMUNISM. Let us remember that throughout his communist evolution he was fostered in Marxism-Leninism-Maoism, and applying it to the concrete conditions of class struggle in Perú and the world HE RECONSTITUTED THE CPP constituted by Mariátegui and later usurped by revisionism, providing it with a general and specific ideological conception, with a general political line and specific political lines, with a general and concrete programme for the new type democratic revolution in Peruvian society, then characterised by being semi-feudal, semicolonial and of bureaucratic capitalism. In the midst of a just, correct and constant two-line struggle against different forms of revisionism within the Party such as right-wing opportunism disguised as left of Patria Roja, and against right-wing and left-wing liquidationism that sought to destroy the Party by focusing solely on the masses, or isolating it totally from them, he made the Communist Party of Perú a new type party and fused with the popular masses, with a leadership group tempered by class struggle, a Party capable of leading the revolutionary struggle of the masses to the conquest of the power of the oppressors and exploiters and to build the People s Republic of New Democracy with immediate step to socialism and with the inseparable goal to communism.

3 First contribution of Chairman Gonzalo, great Marxist-Leninist-Maoist proletarian organiser, to the Peruvian revolution with historical significance. Then, with this new type Party, Chairman Gonzalo led the people s war in the 1980s to 1992, becoming a great political and military strategist; during which he came to the great understanding that MAOISM is a new, third and superior stage of Marxism, second great contribution of Chairman Gonzalo, and raised the great slogan valid until today: Uphold, Defend and Apply Marxism-Leninism- Maoism, mainly Maoism! People s war that developed in the national ambit, being the countryside the main and the cities complement, having a just and correct beginning, a just and correct development, and having reached the strategic equilibrium after the decade of the beginning from which it matured. It was during those moments when the 1992 arrest took place, that Chairman Gonzalo, with a great political vision, determined that there had been a strategic shift in the correlation of forces between revolution and counterrevolution unfavourable to the earlier, with the events of the late eighties, and the international situation becoming more complex, a shift that rounded off in our case with the arrest of almost all the leadership and among them the head leader himself, head of the left, and thus a problem was configured regarding proletarian political leadership that would lead to the defeat or deterioration of the armed feat. Hence his proposal in favour of a New Grand Strategy to pass from a political struggle with weapons to a political struggle without weapons, a Fourth party stage in which we have evolved for 25 years, proposing Political Solution, General Amnesty and National Reconciliation as our fundamental policy and general policy to be developed, trying to overcome the defeat. This long road of small but significant achievements shows the justness and correctness of this approach. There is progress and the prospect is bright but we still have to solve a series of problems, among which is the freedom of all political prisoners and their reintegration into society, which is prevented by the retrograde position of the Peruvian State that fears the genuine possibility of the socialist revolution; reason why they mount systematic counterrevolutionary offensives in the pretension of destroying the Communist Party of Perú and thus prevent the revolution. A fundamental part of their campaigns are the new trials lacking legal reasoning or search for the truth, thus being part of their counterrevolutionary action, against which the CPP rejects them for being a farcical judgment, in which there is no guaranty what so ever, and the judiciary obeys the political order to condemn the leaders of the CPP, and does not hesitate to again deliver a life sentence to those who are already sentenced and to those who are not, in violation of its own legal system and principles of law, since they apply the

4 Criminal Law for the enemy as a sign of further retrogression of the Peruvian State in progress. In Perú no longer exists guaranty, the Criminal Law is an instrument of legal political warfare. So the PCP rejects the new trials against the PCP and former leaders already tried. III. FINALLY: WE GREET CHAIRMAN GONZALO WITH FERVENT ENTHUSIASM AND GREAT COMRADELY FEELING FOR BEING AN EXAMPLE OF A COMMUNIST UNTIL THE END. LONG LIVE CHAIRMAN GONZALO AND HIS MARXIST-LENINIST-MAOIST THOUGHT! WE WILL CONTINUE FIGHTING FOR THE FREEDOM OF CHAIRMAN GONZALO AND COMRADE MIRIAM!
