7 ABSTRACTS Pla to on the Sam eness between Larger L etters and Sma ller L etters of Justice in R epublic N IE M in2li Justice in larger letters and justice in smaller letters are two notions put forward by Plato in Republic II concerning the p rocedure of discussing justice. The sameness between the two notions form s the foundation of Plato s whole argument of justice. But there have been various contentions about this foundation. This paper starts from a new perspective and tries to argue that instead of cursorily postulating the sameness between the two for his inquiry of justice, Plato has a clear questioning consciousness and certain answers to the essence of this sameness. The paper tries to eluci2 date that Plato does not regard justice in larger letters and justice in smaller letters as a kind of structural sameness but the sameness in term s of imp lications and the embodiment of order of justice in the city and in the soul. is both an answer to David Sachs A Fallacy in Plato s Republic published in 1963 and Bernard W illiam s The A2 nalogy of C ity and Soul in Plato s Republic published in W ith this, the paper gives a further interp retation of Plato s justice and concludes that his justice in larger letters and justice in smaller letters is only a reflection of an abstract social order and a status of quiet heart rather than a social reality, that is, a Platonic Justice with its rich religious features. This Sam eness and D ifference: The L og ica l Structure of Seng Zhao In terpreta tion of B uddh ism ZHANG Ke There have been controversies over the comp ilation structure of Seng Zhao Interpretation of B uddhism because of dif2 ferent understandings of its logical structure. An interp retation from the logical angle can offer a new perspective and new interp retation of the rich imp lications of this work, which help s reveal Seng Zhao logical thinking of sameness and difference in his understanding of Buddhism. The Effectiveness of Ch ina s D evelopm en t Stra tegy of Com para tive Advan tages: An Ana lysis Ba sed on the Term s of Trade HUANG N ing Based on the trade p rofits obtained and their distribution reflected in the indexes of various trade term s, the paper gives a comparison of the available trade p rofits under the net factorial term s of trade and the single factorial term s of trade and constitutes the measurement index of trade growth. A case study of the above2mentioned three aspects and the relevant documents reveals that under the stimulus of the dynam ic nature of comparative advantages, China s for2 eign trade has enjoyed a sustainable development and its growth has seen an internal transformation with better quali2 ty. Because there is no trap of comparative advantages, China s development strategy of comparative advantages for foreign trade is effective. TH E M A YFLOW ER COM PAC T s Con tr ibution to US Con stitutiona l Politics FAN J in2xue THE MAYFLOW ER COM PACT, an unofficial social compact, is short but rich in imp lications of constitutional poli2 tics which find exp ression in the following: 1. The government is the p roduct accep ted by the peop le. 2. The social 95

The goals of establishing the constitutions, laws and public adm inistrative power are the confirmation and guarantee of the natural rights given by God. 4. The moral justi2 fication of the peop le s abiding by the law relies on the self2acknowledgement of the peop le while abiding by the law is an embodiment of the self2control of the peop le. THE MA Y FLOW ER COM PACT is the embodiment of the Puri2 tans social management for them selves and germ inates the US democracy and constitutional politics. The Rev iva l of the Author: A Cr itica l Read ing of Roland Barthes and M ichel Foucault s Author Theor ies L I Yong A lthough Roland Barthes idea of " the Death of the Author" deconstructs the authority of the author, he has left some p roblem s unresolved, such as the differences between authors, the author in the eyes of the readers and the in2 stitution and mechanism which p roduce the meaning of the text. M ichel Foucault asks "what is an author?" but his i2 dea that an author exists only as a function of a written work has not solved the above p roblem s. They both regard the author as unimportant. L ike Roland Barthes, M ichel Foucault does not accep t the image of the author imagined by the readers. The solutions to these p roblem s rely on the revival of the author but not the restoration of his authority. The exam ination of the author s role will help reveal the meaning2p roducing mechanism of the text and its basis. because the author is a living individual with his/ her own experience and the author constructed in the language sys2 tem still p lays a role in the literary activities. individual still p lays a part. the subject image. This kind of syntax was created by X ie Tiao and Yu X in, and then used widely in Tang Poetry, Song C i and Yuan Q u. In the grammar perspective, the un2 derstanding of such syntax relies on adding the om itted elements like p redicates and conjunctions. In the perspective of poetics, this syntax has rich imp lications, vivid images, and a static beauty in concise language. If m isused, it will lead to ambiguity in meaning.
