An ASIC will not be issued until a signed Statement of Operational Need is received for each applicant. I acknowledge that a person has an Operational Need to hold a red or grey ASIC if he or she: requires frequent access to all or part of a secure area of an airport where persons are required to display an ASIC, for either of the following purposes: the operation of the airport or an aircraft; or the purpose of a person s occupation or business; or is required under regulation 3.12, 5.04, 5.07 or 5.10 to properly display a valid ASIC at all times (For example, persons facilitating passenger check in, baggage handler, security guard, screening officer, customs officer); in accordance with the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005, subregulation 6.01(1). I acknowledge that a person has an Operational Need to hold a white ASIC if he or she has: a requirement to be directly involved in: the issue of ASICs for an issuing body; or the issue of VICs for a VIC issuer; or a requirement: to perform activities for a known consignor, or for a person who has applied under these Regulations to be approved as a known consignor; or to perform activities for a RACA, or for a person who has applied under these Regulations to be designated as a RACA; or to perform activities for an AACA, or for a person who has applied under these Regulations to be accredited as an AACA; or for an employee of a Commonwealth agency to be directly involved in making decisions relating to the issuing of ASICs. in accordance with the Aviation Transport Security Regulations 2005, subregulation 6.01(1).
