COURSE OBJECTIVES The objectives of the course are: To make students know that the basic rule of English Land Law that Land is owned by the crown That the crown made grants of land to his followers and to those who submitted to his control That grants of land were made in return for services to be rendered by the tenant That Estates are classified according to the duration of a tenant s rights to the land. COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES / COMPETENCIES Upon the completion of this course, the student will be able to: (i) (ii) Distinguish between Freehold and Leasehold land Know the meaning of Estate in fee simple absolute in possession.
